The timing of the redone deal is odd. Days before the draft teams generally are not doing deals or releasing players. Generally...

maybe. just funny to me people use every move out there to justify their own thoughts on what is happening. oh well - their entertainment i suppose. i just sit back and watch these days and people likely find that odd. ;)

Just read Carr was due a $1mil roster bonus on May 1st. That can help shed some light on the timing of the redo and announcement.

Why bother? Any amount saved gives us more money down the road for his replacement or to use towards extending an OL. I would prefer that he be cut. For Carr, this is the best thing because no one was going to pay him any more than what he is going to be getting here.

If this helps us retain offensive linemen great.... Its about helping the team, and I'm sure Carr figured he'd be better off with Dallas instead of getting the same on less on the open market

Carr was a prime example of overpaying in FA due to need for a very average player. He should feel guilty and give some of the money back to the team.

The money that Carr was making or stealing is not Jerrys money. It's the players money that was negotiated thru the salary cap. So technically he was robbing from his fellow players on the team.

This was an important move. I'm glad he agreed to it, and I hope he reaches his incentives.

He's more important that people give him credit for. Just because he's not worth that big contract does not mean he has no value. He does.

This is so we can sign Jason Jones after picking Zeke at 4...

Good times...

Brandon Carr is a good guy, someone that is needed and respected not only in the the locker room but the community. He does a lot to help people and charities, I am glad he is still here.

Ramsey gonna be a safety.

Maybe. I think hes better at safety but jerry was reminiscing about the days deion and mike battled in practice and deion was brought in to help "evaluate" the cb position, he could have asked darrin woodson to come in. Once again i think hes a better safety but got a wierd feeling they dont believe in taking a safety at 4.

It tells me if they take Ramsey or Hargreaves they still might cut him.......if they don't draft a big-time DB they will pay Carr his 1m and keep him.....

It's not like the money is coming out of your pocket. :D

Very funny... But it has cost us players over the years as he hasn't played to the level of his contract... Demarco maybe could have gotten paid if we had that extra cash or hell we could have signed a decent free safety

2 years early isn't smart for anyone

only if you don't like the player. The 2nd year (5th year option) is usually for alot of money. Personally, I would have Smith, Frederick, Martin locked for next 8 years. OL are best bang for buck due to longevity.

Err, you know the link said he made 8 mill last year, and he was going to make 9 mill this year.

The cap hit isn't actually what he's making. Maybe that's what you meant.
