Carter to Bulk Up and Be Used as Nickel Rusher?

You are absolutely right!! My bad, I was thinking of Derrick Thomas of the Chiefs. I guess I don't even correlate sacks with Derrick Brooks.

About Carter, didn't NC have that cheating scandle last year ? I remember thinking about it at the time, and wondering if that was him at college. That players were not taking classes, tutors were writing their papers etc. Not haveing to go to class. Have heard it rumored that he is "slow" to pick up the defence - but is a great athelete. So, does he get one more year to pick it up, or are they saying he's just not cereberal enough to play ? Thought he was an absolute beast in college, but man - what the hell is going on with him ?

Shhhh. Nothing to see there in Chapel Hill. That's just the "Carolina Way".

Carter at SAM makes no sense since his biggest problem is being physical. The guy can't take on blocks, he won't be good at the SAM. The guy is freaking built to play the Will, if he can't do it, then he doesn't have a place on this defense.

Sooo, isn't that where Wilber and Holoman were projected to fight for the starting spot. If Carter is moved over, we have an opening at one spot and a glut of players at the other side ?

Holloman if he pans out is a WLB given his range and ability to play the pass.

Why are we so confident in our young safety depth but not our young LB depth? I'd rather pass on Moseley and get DL.

It's a good idea in theory, but I dont think Carter has the willingness or motor to fight off blocks or set the edge vs the run. Just not his MO.

And Holloman, if capable of being a starting nfl player, would be best at WIL. He's a former S who is good in coverage for a LB.

A lot of people seem to be writing off Durant for some reason though. I think he's still the best option for SLB/SAM/whateveryouwanttocallit on our current roster.

I suggested using Carter as an edge rusher a couple of years ago and got the foam finger.

If it's my call, he'd try it in the spring and summer. Just to see if anything's there.

I wanted to do this with Ware and Spencer producing. I certainly would try it with Selvie and Mincey penciled in as the starters.

Can you guys post the link of the reports about Mosely's knee because I don't ever remember his knee being a problem while at Alabama.

Only injuries I remember that happen to Mosely was a dislocated elbow in 2011 (where he played with a cast) & a freakish hip injury he got inthe BCS Championship game when we intercepted a pass from Jordan Jefferson which caused him to miss spring training & he came back in time for fall camp

Broaddus on Talking Cowboys said that Carter was moving to strong side linebacker and could bulk up and be used as a nickel pass rusher. He mentioned this in reference to Cowboys drafting Mosley. I'm not sure if that's the current Cowboy's plan for Carter or contingency if they draft Mosley.

Carter does have some wheels and might be a good pass rusher.

I'm not sure bulking Carter up is the best move. Speed is his greatest asset. He doesn't need pounds to slow him down and doesn't have an issue with getting ran over.

I have no problem, though, with moving him to the strong side, if Dallas picks up or thinks it has a better WLB, but the SLB spot is the least important among the linebackers in this scheme.

I do think he could be used to rush the passer from a linebacker position.

As far as drafting a linebacker in the first round, I'm not on board. We need a pass-rushing stud at end much worse and I'd rather Dallas move around, if necessary, and get one.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- The only question surrounding former Alabama C.J. Mosley heading into the pre-draft process was his medical history.

Mosley has had his fair share of injuries. As a freshman, he dislocated his elbow. As a sophomore, he dislocated his hip in the national championship game. He also had a minor procedure done on his shoulder heading into last season.

But to prepare himself for all of the questions he'd received from team doctors, Mosley took it upon himself to get everything looked at shortly after the Crimson Tide's season ended. That includes X-rays and MRI's on every part of his body that he injured during his four-year career.

So when it came time for all of his physical examinations, Mosley knew he had a clean bill of health.

"I really wasn't worried about it, but I already knew I played with it and already had the results back in January," Mosley said at Alabama's pro day. "The scouts, they wanted to check everything and make sure there weren't any risks. I understand where they were coming from. But they got the same test (results) that I got."

I really like Mosely too, but NFL Network did a mock draft last night where UCLA's Anthony Barr fell to the Cowboys at 16.

A 6'4, 250 pound Ware clone to play at right end? We should be so lucky.....

He's my #1 projected target of the guys with a realistic shot of being there at 16.

I'd be disappointed. I don't think Mosley good enough to be the BPA at 20, let alone 16. Not to mention LB is a position that usually falls in the draft, unless we're talking 3-4 OLB.
