Here is the reason Barber's carries went up and Jones' carries went down:

Name Carries Yards YPC Rec
Marion Barber 204 975 4.8 44
Julius Jones 164 588 3.6 23

Barbers was cutting into Jones carries the year b4 then also. This year we we swapped series with them.

But a lot of RB that that are in a 2 back system the 2nd RB normally has the higher average YPC and in '06 JJ averaged 4.1 to MB3 4.8. I don't see that lack of production is the reason for this.

If Jones plays the way he is capable of playing ..... he might hurt us.

If he plays hesitant and scared like he played his last 2 years here ..... then he will have lots of fun slamming into our pileups.

I think this confirms my assertion that JuJo mailed it in near the end in Dallas...he was more concerned about how embarassed he looked, instead of going in and sparking the team when Barber was clearly out of gas

JJ averaged 10 attempts per game last year his lowest in his career which lead to his lowest YPG and his pitiful stats for the '07 season.

"I can't remember the last time I wanted something so bad," he said. "I'm going to try to make life miserable for every team I face and every player I face."

I can think of one team in particular. Sign me up for the Nov. 27 game in Dallas.

He'll finish that game with 23 yards.

as far as julius jones running into the backs of linemen,

i still say this and will till i am proven wrong

parcells with his hard nosed stubborn attitude, drilled into jones to hit the hole that is designated to go, no matter what, you hit that hole;

you cant do that as a running back, you have to run to daylight when you see it,

OK Joe, I'll take that challenge.

Jets game last year. Dallas drives to the three-yard line. First down.

The play called was a draw to Jones. Now see if you remember this.

Gurode and the left side of the line block left. They open a hole.

Right side of the line blocks right. The hole was big enough to drive a truck through.

The fullback takes on the lone linebacker a half a yard deep in the backfield. Knocks him to his knees and stays engaged. Bigg Davis breaks free and runs through the hole to clean out anything that comes running up.

Romo runs back to Jones and hands him the ball. He stutter-steps running up on the fullback. He steps to his right and the linebacker - who is still on his knees - grabs him and tackles him for no gain.

The hole was as wide as the distance from the middle of Flozell to the left side of Bigg Davis. There was nobody in the hole at all. He could dance into the endzone, but instead ran into the only players who were on the left side of the hole.

NEXT PLAY!!!

Barber comes in. The Jets hold the blocks well and there is no real hole. Barber turns sideways and blasts through between Colombo and Flozell and gets the touchdown.

This was not Parcells teaching. This is a player that is indecisive and hesitates and ends up on his butt.

Run to daylight you say. He'd have had to wear sunglasses to prevent the daylight from blinding him and he was tackled by a guy on his knees.

You could not tell the difference in how the team played with Barber in the game compared to that of Jones? It was not that hard to see that Barber was clearly out performing Jones and gave the offense a needed spark. I don't have anything personal against Jones but hell even he knew he was not performing well heading into the 07 season and explained the reason was because Parcells made him run like a robot?

Jones ran 267 times for 4.1 YPC the previous year (his highest career total). Barber only ran 135 times (4.8 YPC). Jones ranked 14th in total carries that year.

It's hard to perform when you are not giving the chance. He average 10 carries per game last season. Mb3 averaged 12. It was clear that the organization lost faith in JJ and gave up one him after he came off a 1,000 yard season.

Oh when his carriers got stripped from him. Of course MB3 has more TD's he used in the goal line and short yardage more. As for 20 plus yards run IDK but it was clear that Jones wasn't comfortable or didn't feel wanted/needed and dallas it could be several reason why he didn't produce like he did the year before. MB3 had more attempts that JJ also.....

Coaches also look at practice production and seemed to be more and more impressed with MBIII than J-Jones. Ever consider that this is why the oaches thought MBIII may be better in short-yardage situations? In hindsight the coaches were right. Also, look at the intangibles. Specifically, MBIII adds a spark to the offense that other players on offense respond to. J-Jones never provided that spark, even after his few big runs. Just because you want to defend J-Jones does't change the fact that MBIII became the catalyst for the offense that J-Jones proved he never could be.

Jones was given chances, hell Barber was the one coming off the bench but after a while even Ray Charles could see that Barber was out performing Jones hands down. I do agree that team started losing faith in Jones but it to was based on performance. My god it was not that hard to see that Jones was not getting the job done.

Last time a RB left dallas and said some words about his team...he did not have a great day facing his old team. If memory serves that back was better, even in his age, and wound up with a broken bone for running his mouth.

but to have your carries go from 17 carries a game down to 10 is pretty ridic.

Somehow I knew this would happen. Posted about it as soon as he went there. I have a feeling he is going to have to eat his own words but I guess we will all see.

He's a money hungry fool. He signed his big rookie deal, preformed for one year(To show he can play) than died down the next couple of years. Than this off-season he signed a nice deal(Based off of his great rookie season) will probably preform this season, than die down again.

It's a cycle for these money hungry pricks, the more things change the more they say the same.
