but to have your carries go from 17 carries a game down to 10 is pretty ridic.

You have to earn carries. Why should they continue to bang their head aginst a brick wall. Barber would come in and do the job and Jones wasn't it is that simple. I do agree Jones carries became less and less but it had to do with the play of Barber as it should be, the better back should be getting more carries.

If he would have played better they would have played him more. It is a show me league, not a fairness league.

Coaches play the players more that give them more results.

Not only was Barber doing better, I think it is pretty much a given that he seemed to provide more of a spark to the O-Line and the rest of the team.

Julius used to do that his rookie year. Not much after that.

Now you can blame Bill for changing him, as I do think he had a hand in that, but he did not revert back once bill was gone either..so I guess that excuse only goes so far for a RB with a new coach and an offense that was throwing the rock which should have opened the run...like it did for Barber.

his attempts per game went down that year also.
His attempts per game decreased because of durability concerns. In 2006, he still ran the ball more than most starting running backs in the NFL. He also wore down some in the second half of the year.

It's hard to perform when you are not giving the chance. He average 10 carries per game last season. Mb3 averaged 12. It was clear that the organization lost faith in JJ and gave up one him after he came off a 1,000 yard season.
JJ was given more carries at the beginning of the season and didn't do much with them. Playing time is earned. Only once in 2007 did JJ have more than 4.8 YPC (Barbers' average for the season).

So in 2 more carries per game, MB3 averaged 25 more yards, and you wonder why MB3 got more carries?

yea he averaged 8 carries per game last season and after like 3 games he was getting the same if not more carries than jones.

Well a couple of our players had set backs with bill. I don't think just JJ was affected but RW was also. Spears to.

That happens when you average 2.1 yards against the worst team in the NFL.

Bill drafted Julius and Spears. So it would be impossible for them to have a setback with him.

If the Seahawks run a draw play every single play of the year, maybe he'll be alright.

Seriously, it wasn't that long ago this clown was saying he was going to run for 1700 yards and 20 TDs, and then it was Bill made him a robot and last year he was going to unleash his power on everybody. He's all talk.

"let's get something straight: Nobody has named him the starter. In fact, Holmgren insists he'd like to have Jones and Maurice Morris share the position, with T.J. Duckett coming off the bench, and he will go with the guy who is hotter at the time.

"I'm not going to go 50-50," he said. "I'm going to go by 'feel.'"

Sounds like Julius Jones is in the same spot he was in while with the Cowboys. Splitting carries. And if he isn't the "hot" guy at the time (like MBIII was in the Giants playoff game) he'll be on the bench (like he was during the playoff game).

Well...I'm pulling for JJ do have a great year.

If he does, then how many people on here would be singing a different tune.

All i'm saying is that coming off a 1,000 yard season yea he had a slow start to the season but I think he should have been able to get more carries not have them taken away.

Bill drafted Julius and Spears. So it would be impossible for them to have a setback with him

both of their stats went down when bill left. I just think Bill fudged some of our players heads up.

I'm not entirely sure you know what "with" means.

Yet just like Julius....Roy and Spears said a new coach and scheme would make the difference...It did not.

Spears can not say much anyways as he was not great in the pros since day one...he has been passable at best.

Yea i think RW will be on SC a lot this year.

Last time a RB left dallas and said some words about his team...he did not have a great day facing his old team. If memory serves that back was better, even in his age, and wound up with a broken bone for running his mouth.

And I do believe Emmitt Smith was a little more respected.

In fact, I can't think of one single player who actually expressed regret that Julius Jones was allowed to leave. Or that he was treated like a robot. Or that he was benched for the playoff game for that matter.

That should be a hint.
