Players made plays.......Austin made the play that we needed....

The players just have to keep working and take advantage of the plays presented in front of them.

We had alot of miscue's that kept this game close.

When the players make the plays they are supposed too.....we play well.

Choice and Austim came up big and deserve game balls.....

I think Barber is more suited for tough yards and 3rd blocking....Choice seems to be a better back on 1st and 2nd down.

Felix will be welcomed back....we miss his threat...

btw....Bennett has to be involved....

Also.....we need a threat at the WR position to make the defense honest...and Austin showed he could be that threat.....lets hope the coaches will let him become more involved in the offense

Thats fine. Be "happy as hell" but don't bash people for realizing we played like crap, our coaches suck and several key positions are very weak.

Im happy we won, but, im not thrilled. Winning games in the regular season is a means to an end. Win a playoff game and then Ill be thrilled, or happy as hell as you put it.

:clap2:

What a dumb decision.

Whoever made the call is dumb. Choice was obviously the hot player and Barber was obviously hampered by his injury. Choice probably has 200 yards rushing if he gets the carries throughout the game. And I have nothing against Barber, he's in my sig, LOL, but I believe the hot/healthy RB should get the bulk of the carries.

It appeared to me when I replayed the play that Olshansky jumped into the leg of the LT of the Chiefs, while Igor was on the ground. Anyone notice this?

This game should not have been this close. This offense has problems. Don't let Austin's 250yds mask that fact.

Dallas had 3 drives inside the KC 25 and came away with just 6pts. In fact, TWICE Dallas go to the KC 10 or better and had to settle for FG attempts. One of those they had 3 shots from inside the 10 and no TD.

*THAT* is where this game became closer than it should have been. The offense needs to be able to score a TD from the 4 yard line. That puts the game out of reach and helps the defense.

Great win, I'm excited, but this offense needs work..LOTS of work and IMO, it starts with Garrett's playcalling.

And fans like you are THE biggest problem with this franchise. No other team in sports has the kind of blind homer support that the Cowboys do. Jerry benefits from this like no other.

*Cough* Commanders. *Cough*

Trying to take the emotion of being a cowboy fan and having to sit thru OT even of this pathetic game, a few things really hit me today.
1.Flo Adams is washed up. He is only capable of handling power rushers; small speed rushers like Dumervil and Hali eat him up. He is borderline pathetic in pass protection

2.something is wrong with D ware. I think they are doing a good job hiding it but late in the game the camera showed him on the sidelines holding his arm as if his shoulder was bothering him. I wonder if going back to the injury early in the Tampa game hasnt had an effect on him. He doesnt flatten out on his outside speed rush anymore and resorts to a power rush into the opposing tackle mixing in a few inside moves. He doesnt seem to have the hand strength he showed in previous years when I remember him dragging QB's down with one hand on the jersey.
That being said he was essentially dominant for large parts of the game, and he should have been against that CFL talent

3. Spencer and Jenkins are coming along. Young players progress at different speeds and this is essentially both of their first years starting. Jenkins has been solid tackling lately and Spencer shows good instincts. I enjoy how he sniffs out the wide receiver screens or passes out in the flats. It seems he is doing quite well to my untrained eye in pass coverage as a LB as well. Jenkins got beat by Bowe to tie the game BUT WHERE was the safety help. A step late as usual

4.Tashard, Brookings, Ratliff, Columbo are flat out warriors. I certainly have to beleive that Brookings will rub off. I jumped out of my seat on the last defensive series in OT when he just flew thru the air hurdling bodies to get in the tackle.

5. Ken Hamlin is just collecting a paycheck. Other than noticing when he fails to make a tackle --never wrapping up, he does not make any plays and is virtually unnoticeable. I seem to see him always in the background standing there after a play.
This is a major position upgrade necessary for 2010. The middle of the defense is exploitable time and time again

6. Why is there no killer instinct in our defense late in the game? Inevitably, I beleive our pass rushers tire out and fail to apply the killer sack. On the game tying drive Cassel had virtually no pressure on him. No big play contributions from either safety allow completions and allow the opposing QB to establish a rythm and down the field they go. Failure to have a rotation with outside pass rushers is a problem not solved with this past draft as of yet.

7.I have to beleive this game, even though it was a win, is the beginning of the end of the Phillips era. Lack of concentration, lack of emotion, lack of accountability all point to a coach who has lost control long ago.

8. When is Marty B going to be implemented in this offense????? Again some very puzzling play calling although I was heartened by Tony doing a bit more movement and some improvisation in the pocket.

9.Miles Austin was fabulous--some of it was poor tackling but also a large part of it was Romo putting the ball in a tiny window--Miles making the grab and then being physical with the run after the catch. Perhaps dropping that TD early in the game which to me seemed like he tried to snatch it instead of just securing the ball and getting his feet down may have increased his resolve. If a young player can turn a negative play into a learning experience and raise his level of performance from it then all the more power to him!

It looked like to me, like he was going for Cassell but missed. That would have been a penalty as well, but i dont think he was trying to hurt the LT.

It wasn't just OT, Barber was getting way too many carries early when it was obvious he was limited and Choice was going nuts every time he touched the ball.

Choice 8 92yds 11.5avg 1td 36L
Barber 15 53yds 3.5avg 0td 17L

Early nominee for the most ridiculous post in the Post game thread...

All the people who think this win means anything significant

Realism is shot down as potbanging far too often on this board. It's going to take a loss to a team like KC to get the "special" Cowboys fans to realize the true state of this franchise, which is why today's game may have actually done more harm than good.

Jerry, Wade and Garrett get free passes from many of you after a win, which allows them to continue doing what they are doing, namely riding this team right into the ground. When enough of your paying customers become unhappy with the product, changes are made.

We finally have our #1 reciever, Austin stepped up, Choice stepped up.

No doom and gloom, Phillips is not involved in Offensive play calling, the only person that needs to be replaced is Garrett. We we're without 2 of our most important players today, Jones & Williams, was it closer than it should've been, yes, but we found Austin is a huge threat and now he will get the ball more and hopefully move up to #2 reciever, or #1.

Next is Atlanta taking a loss from the 'boys.

True, there is much that needs to be done. But a win like this gives the team confidence, which is huge. I think we played so flat because we didn't have any confidence. Hopefully we will get energized again coming out of the bye.

I think Ware needs to lose the weight he gained this past off-season. He claimed it wouldn't cause him to lose speed, but to me it looks very clearly has thought it has caused him to lose some speed.

Who's giving anyone a free pass??

You're just going to have bear with those of us who don't immediately come in *****ing after a win like that.

Any LT? Or does the LT have to be good?

What if there isn't a LT that's worth a 1st round pick when we draft? Draft one anyway?

This needs to be explored more.
