So of we should have lost, then should we not enjoy the win?

Because we have infinately more talent than KC. Being excited over wins like this is reserved for the fanbases of teams like Detroit and Washington. The reason we almost lost was because of our complete and total ineptitude.

Being happy with a Dallas win over KC is the equivalent of being the best looking guy in school.

Unbelievable. I think some of you would drive headlong into a concrete wall at 90 MPH without a seatbelt if Jerry Jones asked you to.
And if Jerry told you that it's safer to stand on the edge of the cliff rather than jump off, you'd hurtle yourself off the side.

4:48:22 pm WR Miles Austin had quite a day, catching 10 passes for 250 yards and two TDs, including the 60-yarder that won the game in overtime. Coming into the game, Austin had just five catches for 81 yards in four games.
4:25:47 pm The Chiefs have lost their last four overtime games and haven't won in the extra period since October 12, 2003 at Green Bay.They haven't won an overtime home game since December 16, 2001 against Denver.
4:10:57 pm In his first NFL start, Cowboys WR Miles Austin has had quite a day, catching nine passes for 190 yards and a 59-yard TD. He replaced Roy Williams in the starting lineup, as Williams is out with bruised ribs.

4:09:46 pm Give Cowboys QB Tony Romo a lot of credit on the 59-yard TD play with WR Miles Austin. Romo spotted the Chiefs blitz coming up the middle, identified S Jon McGraw as the man who was coming and then got the ball away in time for Austin to make a play.
3:52:12 pm The Cowboys are absolutely killing their chances of victory with penalties. They now have 12 in the game and more than half of those calls are defensive offisides or false starts on offense.
3:22:34 pm The Cowboys scoring drive was not pretty, but it produced the first TD of the game for the Dallas offense. A dropped pass and a sack were included in the eight plays before Tashard Choice's 36-yard TD run. Choice now has 57 yards on four carries.

3:11:33 pm The Cowboys defense helped set up a Chiefs FG thanks to four offsides calls. Three of those were accepted as LB Anthony Spencer, NT Jay Ratliff, DE Igor Olshansky and LB DeMarcus Ware were all flagged for jumping the snap count.
2:41:18 pm Offensive problems for the Cowboys. In the first half, they gained 202 yards but never found the end zone. They picked up six penalties, turned it over twice and had just 46 rushing yards. WR Miles Austin dropped two potential TD passes in the end zone.

2:26:39 pm Cowboys CB Michael Jenkins came off the field in the second quarter with an apparent injury.Trainers talked with him, but Jenkins is not receiving any type of treatment at this time and appears to be moving around on the sidelines with no problem.
2:25:38 pm KC defense got lucky in holding Cowboys to a FG. On the third-and-goal play, blitzing safety Jon McGraw hit QB Tony Romo late and hit him with his helmet. Refree Ron Winter did not make the call, Romo's pass was incomplete and Dallas took the three points.

2:20:04 pm The Cowboys 37-yard pass play from QB Tony Romo to WR Miles Austin came when they overloaded the right side and KC's defense did not adjust. TE Jason Witten went in motion putting three receivers on that side of the field with only two defenders to cover them.
2:09:54 pm The Cowboys offense is having a bad day and they are doing it to themselves. QB Tony Romo fumbled an exchange with C Andre Gurode that KC recovered and the offense has been hit with four penalties. Romo has missed his last four throws.

1:58:38 pm The Chiefs offensive emphasis all week was to eliminate negative plays. Given great field position at the Dallas 23, their first play was stopped for a six-yard loss, as Cowboys NT Jay Ratliff brought RB Larry Johnson in the backfield. The Chiefs ended up getting a FG on the possession.
1:47:28 pm Cowboys returner Patrick Crayton lost control of a Chiefs punt and was ready to fall on the loose ball when it bounced off the leg of teammate Alan Ball. Eventually KC's Maurce Leggett recovered at the Dallas 23 for the first turnover of the game.
1:41:49 pm The offensive struggles continued for the Cowboys. They held the ball for nearly six minutes moved to the Chiefs 22-yard line, but the drive stalled in part because of a holding call on G Kyle Kosier. Then Nick Folk was wide left on a 40-yard FG try.

1:36:29 pm The Cowboys offense is having first quarter problems. They've wasted two timeouts because the play clock was about to expire and they've been called for a false start. There's a large crowd at Arrowhead Stadium, but they are not making that much noise.
1:35:20 pm Umpire Bill Schuster was helped off the field in the first quarter after getting hit in the back of the right leg by Chiefs OLB Tamba Hali, who was falling to the ground. Refree Ron Winter is now working with a six-man crew.

12:54:11 pm Game-day weather at Arrowhead Stadium for the Chiefs and Cowboys is cloudy and cool, with temperatures in the mid 40s. There's a strong wind from the northwest. There's a 10 percent chance of precipitation. The natural grass surface is dry.
12:46:30 pm Chiefs are wearing uniforms of the 1962 AFL Dallas Texans who moved to Kansas City the next season. On their helmets is a logo of the state of Texas. Facing the Cowboys, Dallas would seem to have been a better place to play this game than KC.

12:03:41 pm The Cowboys made a roster change on Saturday, promoting RB Chauncey Washington from the practice squad and releasing OL Duke Preston. Washington is active today in Kansas City and he'll be wearing No. 31.
12:02:25 pm In the Cowboys starting lineup at Kansas City will be WR Miles Austin replacing the inactive Roy Williams (ribs) and SS Patrick Watkins opening in place of Gerald Sensabaugh (thumb).
12:01:10 pm Game-day inactives for the Cowboys in Kansas City: WR Roy Williams, RB Felix Jones, S Michael Hamlin, S Gerald Sensabaugh, G Montrae Holland, T Pat McQuistan and LB Curtis Johnson. The inactive third quarterback is Stephen McGee.

1. Win turnover battle. We barely survive KC because of TO. We lost to Gmen, Denver because of TO.

2. Discipline. We shoot ourselves in the foot constantly. Untimely personal fouls, falsestarts etc. PS. that call on Ball was BS!!! He use his shoulder and hit the guy in the chest!

3. Defensive coordinator needs to grow a pair..........f@$! blitz instead of prevent defense!!!

Fact is if our team was 100% healthy, or even as healthy as we should be after the bye week, we'd have whooped their tails. The missing key in the running game today seemed to be Felix Jones. $20,000 won't buy you a $30,000 car.

10 thoughts..

1. Cowboys beat a team they should, and it was closer than it should have been. Nothing wrong with that; there are no easy games in the NFL.

2. Miles Austin may have saved Wade Phillips' job. Heading into the second half, I thought Wade might not survive the Bye. Unless the team drastically falls apart, he'll make it to the end of the season before he gets fired. And he should be fired.

3. Speaking of Austin, while I don't necessarily think he should start, he needs to be a more consistent part of the offensive game plan. He still has some issues (Suspect hands, subpar routes), but he's one of two players on Offense that have significant speed (F. Jones) and needs to log more playing time.

4. One of the coaches needs to make Crayton hold the football all day long during the next work day. Also, make sure he plants his feet when he fields Punts. That drives me crazy.

5. No more delayed hand-offs in our own end-zone. That just baffled my mind.

6. Let Romo be Romo. Let him chuck the ill-advised passes into double coverage. The alternative is a player that is so worried about not making bad plays that he can't make easy ones.

7. Dallas needs to draft a Left Tackle in the first round next year. If there isn't a salary cap next year, Dallas should probably cut Flozell Adams to eliminate any potential cap hits in the future. He may be able to switch to guard, but he looks done as a LT.

8. I love Tashard Choice. He has good vision, a tough running style, and a surprising burst. I still think Barber is the better RB, but while he's nicked up, Choice should get the majority of the carries, if not the outright start.

9. Jay Ratliff is the best player on the defense. While I still love Ware (and it was nice to see him finally get a pair of sacks), Ratliff just destroys people.

10. Dallas is 3-0 against Winless teams and 0-2 against Undefeated teams. In other words, they're talented enough to beat the teams they should (even if it isn't always pretty), but not good enough to overcome their mistakes against the truly elite teams in the league. They look like a solid 8-8 to 10-6 team that will place 3rd in the division and be battling for the final playoff spot come December.

still behind the giants, eagles, saints, vikings, falcons. out of the playoffs.

Really? A healthy Cowboys team struggled to put away 0-5 Tampa Bay and needed a defensive touchdown with 3 minutes left to beat 1-4 Carolina

You're done, champ. Cut your loses and bail.
It's definitely an indicator. What indication do we have of your intelligence? Your username? :laugh2:

This is an extremely poorly coached team on both sides of the ball. Both the OC and the DC should be ashamed of their inability to motivate their players.

I have zero qualms about saying I'd of been tickled pink to see Dallas lose today. They certainly didn't deserve the win!

The sooner this team is eliminated from contention as a playoff contender, and we can hopefully send BOTH of them packing, the better.

7-9 would be considered a good outcome IMO, given the schedule we have left and the pathetic play I've seen from this mess.

I recall reading a thread during the weak pointing out how maybe having Ware/Spencer switch sides would benefit the both of them.

We saw it on the Ware sack and on the next play on the Spencer near sack.

Good call whoever mentioned it.

Again, I saw Ware face a lot of one-on-one that handled him decently well. He just doesn't seem to do much other than a straight rush. Again, i saw not a lot of effort to push him off his line and out of the play when he rushed from the right side of the Dline. When he came from the otherside though, he showed a nice little inside move. Maybe he'd be more comfortable from that side?
