Good summary. That’s the “it” he doesn’t have. Throwing guys open. So we’ve maxed out his talent and the most we get is a good regular season and possibly a WC win. We’ve plateaued as a franchise. IMO I say we blow it up and try and find someone that has a higher ceiling and can throw guys open. Me personally, I feel any season we don’t win the Super Bowl is a fail and any season we are not improving is a fail. We’ve plateaued with Dak starting in 2016 and haven’t improved since his rookie year. In some ways we’re going backwards, Ala getting worse on the road.
Nice post of genuine QB reality.

Maybe the reality for a different team. There are countless hours of tape from this year of Dak throwing guys open so basically to say he is not is to say you did not watch the Cowboys play this year or do not know what "throwing someone open" means and are just quoting something you heard once because it makes you sound smart.

The coaching staff makes the plays. The coaching staff when making the plays determines the read order. Therefore the coaching staff is the one who called plays where Lamb was not the primary option, or even the secondary option.
So how many times does it need to not work before Dak makes changes in the play calling or does he just continue to fail because someone else told him to? Veteran QB's can change plays.

CD was unstoppable. So what do Mike and Dak do? Ignore him for 2 and a half quarters.

He should have been given the option toss, not Pollard. He should have been given the WR screen, not Gallup. There should have been no other options.

The game could have been won before the 4th quarter if you feature your playmaker.

Have watched every play since his first start in 2016.
I'm just as qualified to judge his lack of success in throwing guys open against zone defenses as you are to say that he's improved in that area.
Try again.

Opinions are like *** holes.
Everybody's got one.

I do not think in the history of the NFL there has been a single veteran QB who just decided to repeatedly reject the coaches playcall and do their own. There are logical reasons you do not do that and why no QB does that. QBs may audible a play or two during a drive or have multiple calls based on a look but the former is not what we are talking about and the latter is again dictated by the defense and not the player.

Yes and the opinions of GMs, coaches, and executives who all rank Dak highly are certainly worth more than yours. By all means try and argue you know better and while you are at it go try to explain physics to a physicist and explain mathematical proofs to a mathematician.

I'm not any of those. Neither are you.
I'm a poster on a message board with an opinion that differs from yours. There are other posters here who share my opinion. There are some who don't.

So your feeble attempt to regulate an opinion based message board is a fail.

And Merry Christmas by the way.

Ha! Those “mathematicians” sure make a TON of mistakes on talent evaluation…in fact they are generally only about 50% and I’ve seen plenty of posters here do better than a lot of front offices with multi million dollar “mathematicians”.
So IMO 100% fair for people to disgaree with the folks who get paid to do it. Check out Kiper, he’s freaking terrible. One thing I’ve learned as I’ve gotten older….is that just because someone gets paid to do a job does NOT mean they are better at it than you could be. For one, I think this daily driving on poorly designed and maintained roads to work everyday…and half a dozen others..
