That's like winning least gay penquin at the gay penquin ball.

I have no clue what that meant.

Calgary Stampeders kicker Sandro DeAngelis was scheduled to work out with the National Football League Dallas Cowboys on Friday.

DeAngelis, who’s scheduled to become a free agent on Feb. 15 after five years with the Stamps, is ahead of the pace of last off-season when he didn’t manage to secure a tryout while exercising his option-year NFL opportunities.

The 28-year-old former Nebraska Cornhusker is the most accurate kicker in CFL history.

I live in Calgary and have watched him kicked for years. When I helped coach my kids Bantam football team Sandro came for a kicking clinic. He's a good guy. Really intense too. Takes his job very seriously.

This guy is really good. REALLY good. He has been money inside of 50 yards. Unlike when the Cowboys kick a FG, I have full confidence when Sandro is kicking. He's not great in kickoffs, but the Cowboys have Buehler for that.

Maybe the NFL ball is different, but I can tell you first hand that this guy is a helluva kicker up here. I think he would be a huge upgrade in Dallas.

And to top it off: he a good Italian boy.

Aren't the FG posts in the CFL much wider than the NFL.....could be an issue.

yeah but what if he is what we need hostile and we can get him cheap/ they said he was the most accurate kicker in cfl history;

and he is only 28, this would save us a draft pick used on a kicker too

also doesnt the cfl have their goal posts not as wide as the nfl? so if our goal posts are wider then what he is used to kicking through, wouldnt that be good hostile?

and remember you said you didnt like it when we signed brooking either hostile
this maybe a find for us and save us on a draft pick, too

The goal posts are the same in Canada.

So was Mike Vanderjagt before the Colts signed him.

It is just a workout, so we'll see. We've gone this route before with Arena kickers, it is no harm to look under this rock.

yeah but vanderjagt was like 34 years old when we got him, way past his prime, this kicker is like 28, he kinda reminds me of our steady kicker septein, hopefully doesnt have the problem septien had though, but a decent kicker;

Pretty funny I brought his name up a month ago here. maybe longer than that. But yeah he's been the top kicker in that league for a while now.

"Theres actually a good kicker in the CFL named Sandro DeAngelis who has been probably the leagues best kicker for a couple years now. Over 5 years he's 83.8 % and is coming off a 42-49 made missed season. The last good kicker to come of that league was Lawrence Tynes for the Giants. But yeah i'm not sure what else is out there, this guy could be worth a try."

that was my exact post in the Adam Schefter reports folk lost his job thread.

Hopefully he doesn't have the sexual problems.

we used to have Richie Cunningham as kicker, now we need someone named Potsie Webber

Nope. They are the same.

Thanks, I looked it up real quick.
NFL & CFL are 18 1/2 feet wide. It is NCAA that is wider, a little over 23 feet wide.

Yep.

The only difference is that the posts are at the front of the end zone up here. That's because the end zones are 20 yards deep in Canada.

Good find. I think there's a rule that the NFL can't sign CFL players during a CFL season.

I'm all for that. I think teams should explore every avenue to find talent..the CFL, UFL, Track and Field, basketball, etc. Bob Hayes or Antono Gates types.

I am all for Folk back if he can regain his confidence. No reason not to bring him back in the offseason and let him get to work.

And find a damn holder too.

my fear with Folk is that in camp and practices he was fine...it was game time where he choked...and i would hate to go through camp thinking he is fine letting all other kickers get swooped up only for game time to come around and...."thump" off the left upright

I don't see Tony holding for kicks again, but I'm not sure who the heir apparent is. Kitna and McBriar want no part of it.

It is okay. We can just draft a holder. I will check the draft guides when they come out and let you know who the best one is.

Still say bring back Folk for competition. Let them fight it out and best man wins.

I was under the impression that was the intent but i've heard nothing about it. I would hope that they would atleast bring him back just to see where he's at in his career. Maybe it was the hip surgery. Maybe it was the yips. But at his age you would like to think you'd bring him back for competition.
