Changed minds about Romo?

I'm just curious, is there anyone out there who still thinks Romo can't succeed.

Mind you, I'm not saying he will have a brilliant future, of course 2 starts doesn't tell the whole story.

But I'm not talking about there being any certainty that he will have a great future, just that he has proven enough that to show he can have that kind of future - that he can be a quality QB in the NFL.

IN OTHER WORDS, THIS THREAD IS DIRECTED TO THOSE WHO HAD CLAIMED THAT THERE WAS NO WAY IN HELL ROMO COULD SUCCEED.

Have you changed your mind and are willing to say it's possible?

I dont see it yet, but if he ever can be rattled and lose his confidence I think his game could go to pieces.

There are plenty out there who still think that Romo can't succeed.

They're called Bledsoe fans.

In two starts he has a great ranking. I will hold judgement untill about mid way next season though. To many QBs start strong and just fade away.

That is a hard question to answer because, really, nobody ever really saw him in live game action...

But, after seeing what I've seen, he has a damn good chance, in my book!

He's a cool customer!

That is not true. I think there is only one, so it is Bledsoe fan.

Aint that the truth...

My opinion of Romo remains the same since I first seen him play in the preseason.

You don't even see the possiblity? Averaging 275 ypg and 1.5 TD's over 2 starts doesn't show you ANYTHING?

Hell, if ANY QB could be rattled and lose his confidence his game could go to pieces. That's a broad statement that applies to everyone - only applying it to Romo is unfair.

All I was asking is if you can see there is talent and he has a reasonable chance to be successful - if you can't see that much I'm wondering what it takes. Enlighten me.

Have you really not seen ANYTHING to suggest success?

I had my doubts about Romo. I still do because two games a career does not make. But, now it's more of a tempered optimism that Bill so often displays when talking about Romo. There is no doubt the guy has talent, but you never know what to expect until he actually gets thrown into the fire. And from watching him play these last 2 1/2 games, I can see why Bill used that all too familar word called "moxie" when talking about him. The game seems natural for him and he looks like a cool cucumber when the pressure is on. Now, the great ones are made when the games matter and are on the line, i.e. the playoffs and the SB. Can he be one of those? We can only wait and see.

What is it about his game that has you thinking that way? Just curious. Cause I couldn't tell from that.

That depends on far back this question goes. When Henson was around I always thought that he had the physical tools to succeed and Romo did not.

However, I was clearly wrong. Romo has everything it takes to make it. Like you said two games does not make a career, but he would be hard pressed to play any better than he has in his first two NFL starts ever.

The future is very bright for Romo and by my own philosophy that if you dont have a QB you dont have jack, I would say the Cowboys future is bright as well despite a underwhelming season to date.

Not sure if the turn around will come this year, but if Romo keeps playing like he is I see big things in the Cowboys near future. Realistically.

I've liked him all along.

Yeah, I think he might just turn out to be pretty good.

That's why I said that 2 games doesn't tell the whole story and that we weren't talking certainies. That's why the question was merely about Romo proving enough to have a reasonable chance at success.

I was only asking if anyone still thought he had no chance.

It's amazing how little comprehension there is among the posters here. I asked if anyone STILL thinks Romo can't succeed, not if anyone ever thought it.

I didn't think he had a chance until I saw him this preseason.

During the Giant game, I saw some good stuff...but his tendency to careless with the ball resurfaced.

The last two games have been VERY good. I think I've become a believer.
