Changed minds about Romo?

In fact.... Romo is going to get somewhat of a pass in his growing pains... due to his showing us early what we may be getting....

It's amazing how little comprehension there is among the posters here. I asked if anyone STILL thinks Romo can't succeed, not if anyone ever thought it.

Oh, I see...so, since the ones of us that responded that he indeed DOES have a chance...we have reading comprehension problems and should have not posted?

Man, you really tricked me...sorry I responded...

I didn't think he had a chance until I saw him this preseason.

During the Giant game, I saw some good stuff...but his tendency to careless with the ball resurfaced.

The last two games have been VERY good. I think I've become a believer.

I agree. The previous pre-seasons, he looked too much like Clint Stoerner. This pre-season he looked much better. These last two games have shown quite a bit. I think there will always be some doubt with someone with so little experience, but I can see him at the helm for a long time. The future looks more promising with Romo than it ever did with Bledsoe.

I hate ranch dressing.

He played great against the Panthers...But I was like OK that's one game what will he do against the Commanders?

Well to me he played even better and I always felt that something good was going to happen every time he dropped back.

After Vinny and Quincy and Bledsoe and Hutch and Henson and Leaf...I finally feel that we have not only a very good QB but also one that could be here for many years.

Romo has me excited about the QB position for the first time in I can't remember.

GO ROMO!

Me too. I kept expecting Rex Grossman. But Romo has outplayed him so far this year imo. Romo hasn't lost his cool and he knows when to dump the ball off, he has good enough "presence" to know when he needs to get rid of the ball. At this point in his career he's shown enough that you know you can win with him. Even more than that, he's overcome numerous bad situations his team has put him in with penalties and mistakes.

They're not winning or playing well in spite of Tony Romo. He's a big part of what's right with the Cowboys in these past 2 games.

I think Romo is going to have a great career as a back up, but I don't believe he is a franchise type of QB.

I wanted to see Romo when we had Carter and Hutch.

Then I wanted to see Henson, because I didn't think Romo would ever see time.

I am very happy with Romo's progress. I thought he had a very good game against the Commanders. One good sign was the first time he got sacked. It looked like he was going to just throw the ball up and risk interception, but then he reined it in. It shows that he is starting to curb some of his gunslinging.

I think he is looking better each week, which should be an encouragment to us and worry to the rest of the NFCE.

I'm convinced......He is the man.

Now if we can just get the rest of the team to play to his level.:D

Are you slamming my reading comprehension? Or I am just misunderstanding your quote above? Pretty ironic huh?

Don't mind stauty... He doesn't like posts that in his opinion are off point. If you're not directly answering his questions he doesn't want to hear it.... in my opinion. He takes everything so personally. In one fell swoop he insulted just about every poster in this thread, saying they have comprehension issues... when all they were really doing is agreeing with him.

Back your statement up with facts. What do you see that he doesn't do well considering he has had two starts in this league. I don't believe you can fault his arm strength, mobility, accuracy or intelligence, so what are you basing this statement on? Yikes, maybe it is because he played for a small school and hasn't led the Cowboys to three straight victories. Gosh, narrow minded people make me crazy. :banghead:

Yeah.. aint that something.... the rook playing better than the vets... go figure..... its coming though.... a well oiled machine real soon:)

Romo has shown more in 2 games than a Cowboys quarterback has shown in 8 years.

Considering he lead us to a big comeback against Carolina, and put us in position to beat Washington with a last minute drive, I would say that besdies his first ever real action vs NY, the kid has stepped up when the chips are stacked against him.

Yep, count my mind changed on Romo. I thought he was a not-quite-tall enough, average-armed, Jason Garrett-type. Turns out, his arm is plenty strong and accurate; his pocket presence belies his experience; and his "moxie" is balanced by a good deal of poise. He'll make some mistakes as he learns on the job, but we can win with this guy. To me, he's Delhomme with a little extra magic.

Couldn't agree more. I'm more excited watching this team with Romo then any team since Aikman was our qb.

I'm just curious, is there anyone out there who still thinks Romo can't succeed.

Mind you, I'm not saying he will have a brilliant future, of course 2 starts doesn't tell the whole story.

But I'm not talking about there being any certainty that he will have a great future, just that he has proven enough that to show he can have that kind of future - that he can be a quality QB in the NFL.

IN OTHER WORDS, THIS THREAD IS DIRECTED TO THOSE WHO HAD CLAIMED THAT THERE WAS NO WAY IN HELL ROMO COULD SUCCEED.

Have you changed your mind and are willing to say it's possible?

No I haven't changed my mind, he still sucks in my book.

Munchis....Out!!

Troll. Got back underground as apparently you have the eyes of a mole and therefore lack the eyesight necessary to look at a TV screen.

Right on! For those even thinking about Romo as NOT the best young QB we have seen in years, they need to remember Quincy, Hutch, Henson, Leaf. I challenge anyone to recall two games another QB has played so well since Aikman.
