Changes to be made at minimum for the Cowboys to be successful next season

A lot of us suggested going after Russell Wilson earlier and basically letting Dak rot on the bench in the final year of his contract and use Wilson to bridge the gap until we can draft a franchise qb.

And the same posters ridiculing you in this thread ridiculed that idea relentlessly.

Meanwhile the Steelers got him for vet minimum ($1.2 million) this year.

6 starts he's averaging 270+ ypg. 10 TD, 3 int and a rating over 104.

Point being no matter what idea you bring to the table to replace the guy they think is irreplaceable, they'll dismiss it immediately and act like it's ridiculous and never own it when they are clearly proven wrong.

This idea that "if Dak can't do it nobody can" is basically a mental illness at this point. Just remind them we could have had Russ for a million bucks this year, but they and Jerry thought it would be better to pay Dak a guaranteed $231 million over 4 years. Then laugh like hell at them and move on.
You still don't get it. The Steelers have a much better team than we do. Yet, which QB (Russell Wilson or Dak Prescott) helped lead their team to a win at Pittsburgh when our Cowboys played them earlier in the season?

Had Dak had a much better team (better Oline, more than just 1 WR threat, a actual Running game and a Defense), this team would have a much better record than 5-7 which they have right now. Half of our losses have been within a TD or less. We would likely have an 8-4 record right now.

Any of these "This is what we should do for future success" posts that don't have "Begin the search for a QB immediately" as the #1 priority cannot be taken seriously.
We all knew what we should do for future success last year we all know after the Green Bay game the coaching staff needed to go we all knew we couldn't stop the run we all knew we couldn't run the ball we all knew we shouldn't pay back 60 million dollars.

And we all know right now that we have all the same problems we had last year and the one thing were positive of is we won't change all of these obvious flaws in one off season if we change any at all and we are stuck with Dak and his huge contract.

Beyond your hate for Dak . I think we are coming to a point with him like we did with Romo where the injuries are piling up and he is not going to be able to protect himself I feel the day is rapidly approaching.
Long story short we are toast till we get rid of his contract and no amount of perfume is going to fix this pig

None of this will matter w the scrub we are paying $60m.

We’ve fielded better well-rounded rosters and he still couldnt get it done making LESS money
WillieBeamen......then what should Jerry do that would bring some satisfaction at QB for you & many on the board? Just curious. What's your take on fixing the QB situation?

We have not drafted well with WR or DT, unless someone falls in our lap.

Need to fill holes in FA and go back to draft best player available in the first 3 rounds.
What about ceedee, and a YOUNG Gallup lol (I hear you just being silly)

Time to change the stadium, they're more worried about the soccer games being there, let's build a bigger stronger stadium the one we have now is boring, the one the raiders play at looks amazing lol

I only bring up ideas that are actually realistic. Obviously we aren't going to be getting rid of Dak any time soon after signing him to the contract we did,...we cant,... no sense even talking about it. I am not opposed however to drafting a QB at some time during the next draft,...in fact I encourage it. I was a guy that was screaming to the mountaintops a few years back to draft Purdy as high as round 5. REALLY wish we would have!

BPA sounds good, but would you pick a TE? Another OL?

IDK, if a massive DT is there or another playmaking LB I would have a hard time passing those even if they are second or third BPA.

Your first paragraph is the grand slam for me. I have never seen a more inept trio of McFraud, Schott and Solarski with regards to their inability to design and execute a 2024 style run game.

For all of Schott's and Solarski's long ago success as run game guys they are truly pathetic.Throw in McCarthy and his run the ball and rest the defense lie and it's literally a 3 stooges operation of run game malpractice.

Fix the run game/oline blocking schemes and the transformation will be night and day.
Doesn’t help that the QB isn’t a threat from underneath center either…

say ALL? My God you're like arguing with a woman. Go and look at their contracts and let me know which ones weren't. I honestly don't care. I literally said anyone that thought of playing qb in High school too so you better look into that and make sure it was accurate.

In no particular order...

New offensive line coach with some recent chops. Zone running scheme,...tough hard nosed run game.

Draft another D.T high and sign one as well.

Draft another inside linebacker, another OLB too.

Draft another WR, sign one to replace Cooks.

Draft a true lead back,...1st round, second at latest.

Upgrade the offense with more motion,.... a lot more motion.

Sign some decent depth.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am not a McCarthy hater, so if he stays I wouldn't totally be against it either. But yeah,...I would just as soon see him gone. Next head coach cant be a yes man,....he has to have a little fire in his belly or modern players will walk all over him. Wouldn't mind seeing Mike Vrabel brought in,...for my money he can bring Jim Schwartz to run the defense too.
Vrabel accomplished a lot for the hand he was dealt with the Titans,...never had an Uber talented team although he did have some great talent in spots like Derrick Henry. Tennessee has been known for quite some time as a team that doesn't spend in Free agency,...between that and a couple questionable drafts it kept them out of the super Bowl IMO.
In fact, Vrabel reminds me a lot of Dan Campbell,....but Campbell was given much more control.
You dont draft RBs that high.

We have so many other needs we cant throw around valuable draft resources like we have to spent an Infinite number of them.

We have a 60 mil qb. We need an complimentary back not a top notch one. Let our bum at qb handle the rest or cut his ***.

Plus, the Steelers are a football organization. They play football. The Cowboys are an entertainment organization.

The Cowboys have real needs at every position.
We have a bunch and some you aren’t drafting. In the middle of the round ypu aren’t getting one of the top LT prospects but you can get a RB, WR who have talent. My dream was get a starter quality LT, cut steel and move Guyton to RT but the guys ready to start will be gone at LT. DT is a really hard position to draft. I know Jerry isn’t going to buy many outside players but if he’d just go get one goid DT that would be huge. But we have to hit big on our top 3 picks and get lucky late to add 4 new guys to this team

You are aware, aren't you, that Justin Fields was the qb for Pittsburgh when we played them? and yes they looked awful.

Once Wilson became the starter for Pittsburgh is basically when they took off and started playing great football. Probably not a coincidence.

We could have had him for a measly 1 million dollars

Instead, we paid record money for this pathetic loser that you and Jerry have an obsession with.

You weren't even aware that Wilson wasn't the starter when we beat Pittsburgh earlier this year. You basically proved my point for me. Explain to me again what I "don't get".

There is nothing (realistic) he can do.

You cant trade him and you cant release him until 2026 post june 1st.

These next 4 years are going to play out like the last 4 with him.
