I just hope we can catch lightning in a bottle. If the Eagles can win a SB with Nick Foles, the Cowboys can win with Dak. Foles entire career was spotty. But he came into a perfect situation. All we can do is hope.
Like I said, hope that lottery ticket hits so you can make rent.

For a high school grad, I have been very fortunate when it comes to finances. Anything can happen. Hell, A Mark Sanchez led Jets team went to two straight AFC championship games. I believe they got there by knocking off Manning and Brady one of those years. Better than what we've been doing.

There's a way to get there with QBs that aren't that great. Lets see what happens.

I took a picture with Phil once. Michael and company came to town and we put the whoop on them.

Which spare qb was being paid like a franchise qb? I know we like to talk about Dilfer and Foles but those guys were not eating up a lions share of the cap.

None of them. Dak is at 11.5% of the cap. That's not terrible. That's what Matt Stafford and Garoppolo was around when they went to the SB. They had pretty good teams around them.

Coaches generally don’t offer public critique .

And if those coaches rank Dak with Mahomes and Burrows I’d like to see it.
Coaches wouldn't give praise to a QB if they didn't believe it. I know it eats you up, but those coaches are not only on record but also on video giving Dak high praise as being one of the best right now.

I was watching a documentary on Michael Jordan, who was a prolific scorer from 1984-1990. But the knock on Michael was he could put up great stats, but couldn’t win in the playoffs. Along comes coach Phil Jackson and he changed the “system” from pick and roll, plus isolation offense to the triangle offense that won Phil Jackson 9 rings and gave him three 3-peat championship teams, two with Jordan and Pippen in Chicago, and another with Shaq and Kobe in Los Angeles. Jackson won 9 championships in 13 seasons, making his triangle system perhaps the best in NBA history.

In the NFL, by far the most successful system for winning championships has included the concepts of the West Coast offense, a system of which Mike McCarthy is a disciple, and with which he himself has already won a championship. The Jones family initially prohibited McCarthy from implementing the WCO in Dallas, which never in the long 63 season history of the team, has incorporated the Weat Coast Offense. The Jones family have been dedicated to the Air Coryell type system that won them 3 championships in the mid 1990’s.

But with the firing of Kellen Moore, that has changed. The implementation of the Weat Coast offense style is not only going to affect Dak Prescott. It will change the offense for the entire team. Receiver routes will change, running back assignments will change, and blocking assignments will change (a big reason Schoonmaker was the 2nd round pick.)

The is no guarantee this will work. But we all know that the system that Garrett and then Moore in Dallas since 2007 hasn’t worked out either. But perhaps a system change can do for the Cowboys what it did for the 90’s Bulls, and the 2000’s Lakers. Perhaps implementing the West Coast offense concepts into to Cowboys offense can change them from a team that piles up great offensive stats (like both Romo and Dak have had at QB, Murray and Elliott have had at RB, Dez, Amari and CeeDee have had at WR, and Witten at TE) into a team prepared to win championships instead.

Perhaps…

It’s worth a shot, anyway.
Why would they hire Schottenheimer as OC then?

Isnt his background AirCor ?

Seems like a bad fit for OC and HC.

Of course they would, in every pc they give before every game.

Don't take anything these HC's say seriously, it's all part of the game they play.

It's along the same lines as what Parcells said about lying. It's OK if it's about the draft.

Sorry, CC. I know you and Greg don't like Dak. Mike Martz wouldn't prop up Dak if he didn't truly feel that way about him. Heck, Martz even broke down all of Dak's interceptions explaining how most were not Dak's fault. No coach would do that if he didn't truly believe it.

Giving high praise is one thing. I’m contending they didn’t rank him as high as Mahomes and Burrows which you are attempting to do basically not wanting to believe that there is anyone you’d rank higher than Prescott.

That’s not true at all. If we are ranking Dak near a top 10 QB and enough to build around that’s not what I’d describe as “ not liking”. We just aren’t placing him in the top Elite group in the NFL which no one else is either.

Yes they would. Especially, Bellychickens. He'll say anything if he thinks it'll help his team.

Yup. It's part of the game. Unfortunately, our GM is too dumb to play it.

AC, I neither dislike or like Prescott as the DC QB, I just accept what is.

And I think Martz is a clown act so I don't care what he believes and lucked into the talent on the Rams, he was a full on 0 without that.

I do not use stats or what others say about a QB to evaluate what I think he is. I watch him play and specifically when the chips are down and the team is in a hole. I think Prescott is a good QB but that's as far as it goes, he is not great. And I do not think he has greatness in him.

My only problem that I have is that I think Prescott is overexposed and receives far too much coverage for so little accomplished. Two HOF QB's fighting for MVP and all they can talk about is his slump.

I do not blame him for that but I am just sick of seeing and hearing him.

I am the same about Prescott as I was Romo, accepting and understanding that it really isn't all about this one player that people want to shoulder all the blame.

Right. These HC’s always are propping up their opponents. Last thing they want to do is provide bulletin board material.

Claiming Dak is a good QB or top 10 caliber isn’t placing in the most Elite category which AC is attempting to do which basically places him on an Island not only on this forum but probably most of Cowboys Nation not to mention rest of the league.

If that’s where he wants to be then that’s his call but he shouldn’t be shocked if no one else or very few want to place Dak that far up there with Mahomes and Burrows, etc.

And Nick Saban learned that from him. Listen to him before they're playing some powder puff team.

What is any HC going to say? "This guy's a real scrub, I could start a blind secondary against him and get 2 picks".

Coaches don't do the rankings. It's the media guys that do.
