I have been saying for a while that a lot of people are assuming McCarthy will want to come back after being forced to coach on the final year of his contract.

He will either leverage it to gain things he wants changed or he may have already decided that he is better off moving to a team with a younger quarterback with a lot more cap room to work with.

I hope he gets a gig he is happy with. It will be the Cowboys players who convince McCarthy to stay in Dallas if that's what happens. I can't see many on his staff staying in Dallas if they get opportunities elsewhere. Perhaps he could become a thorn in the Cowboys side again like he was in GB.

Could you blame Mike if he wanted to walk away from this dysfunctional organization?
I love the Cowboys, but they are a dumpster fire.

Just read where the entire staff have expiring contracts. All of them are free to go after their next opportunity

I would not blame him if he opts for a change of scenery (i.e. Bears etc). I've wondered for some time why a Cowboys HC doesn't request an aggravation fee clause in their contract. We know the source of the aggravation.

Maybe likes the fact that the front office never signs top end free agents, or when Jerry holds court with the media outside the locker room after games….or lands helicopters during practice.

Those items could be underrated attractions.

That’s true.

But in Dallas, you have two human meat shields to take the brunt of criticis.

You do very minimal press conferences and no matter how much you stink .. people will ALWAYS hate Jerry and Stephen more.

Chicago would be decent. Jacksonville is an easier division to make noise in.

But he’s settled here and has his type of players. It would be stupid to say no and move elsewhere.

When he first came here, I thought he was going to be excited because unlike Green Bay, Dallas would sign higher tier free agents.

After seeing the bargin hunting mindset from the organization the last couple of years he may very well prefer to go to an organization where he has more say in that area.

And I thought I was the only one who saw it that way. One better.

Big Mac takes Zimmer back to the North as his defensive coordinator.
