Like it or not Jerry and the Cowboys hire whoever they want to hire as coach. Name me one coach that was offered the job that said no. Also Jerry gives the coaches more freedom/choices than any other owner. The Cowboys front office is an issue no doubt but the Cowboys organization is not as bad as 70% of the rest of the league. Certainly not as bad as Chicago.
There is no way of knowing the men who have declined offers to coach. It’s handled in a professional manner. If any coaching candidate publicized turning down an offer what team would be willing to consider them gong forward? I’m sure many candidates have instructed their agents who to not even talk to.

Dallas’ unique front office hierarchy is probably not particularly desirable unless the compensation is significantly better than other offers.

Remember he was offensive coordinator for 5 years there ,he has ties to the scouting coaches who are there now! But we will see in a couple weeks!
While a head coach under contract can express an interest in coaching another team it is never done during a season. And an NFL team can express an interest in a coach under contract to another team, it is never done during a season. One reason is the Rooney Rule. If the Saints were to express an interest in hiring McCarthy now, and pursued him at season’s end, the mandatory interview of a minority candidate would look like a farce.

There is already a lawsuit pending by a minority coach yet unsettled. Do you believe the Saints have overtly or even covertly expressed an interest in any coach prior to initiating a formal search? They have not. You made this up.

Maybe Mike McCarthy has taken his first step to move on from the Cowboys by selling his house. The 2nd step may be joining the Bears.
Jerry seems to think he has a free ticket to doing anything he wants and get away with it. I'd be tickled to see MM prove otherwise!

I have been saying for a while that a lot of people are assuming McCarthy will want to come back after being forced to coach on the final year of his contract.

He will either leverage it to gain things he wants changed or he may have already decided that he is better off moving to a team with a younger quarterback with a lot more cap room to work with.
I think he comes back and gets the leverage he wants. Jerry will cave.

I’m praying for Zim to lead this group
The guy who just said he isnt sure if he wants to be DC next season because its been a challenge this year? I think you need to let that dream die, Zim probably isnt the guy you want to put even more on his shoulders at his age.

Gotta have dreams. I’m saddened he feels that way. I would love to see him lead the squad with a new OC (preferably from the SF staff) and pieces to add to build the D fully in his image.

Unless he has more control on some aspects I would bet he leaves. This is JJ wants tbh, but it would be mutual part of ways. Tbh, I only see a very select few qualified candidates for HC next year. We may want who we want, but do they want to come to Dallas? We already see a good number of players declining to come here.

I hope they want him and make him a huge offer. Whatever keeps him from coming back here is fine with me
