Chase Daniel suggests the Bears should go after McCarthy

What’s the point in sabotaging him? Not disagreeing but what was the point? Maybe so he wouldn’t have to fire him?
When the season started ......remember Jerry was still pis___ about the GB loss. He didn't have the balls to fire Mike coz the final year ( now we just recently learned the entire coaching are lame duck) on his contract. So he didn't fire him and refused to help him via free agency. Hell, even Mike said no one wants to be on a one-year contract before the start of the season. Bottom line IMO......Jerry didn't want him after the GB loss but was too cheap to fire him.....so he hung him out to dry. Now it appears it may backfire ..........good for MM.

Disagree with nothing here but man when you see it laid out like this….it just reminds you this team is hopeless.

He may just be a good head coach. But not here. He's not going to be anything but average under Jerry Jones.

Just me, but I am 100% confident his agent already knows his chances of getting an offer from another team. With advanced communication technology, it's nearly impossible to stop tampering. As one former agent put it .........it's no different when the free market opens and teams sign free agent within min. My point is Jerry's attempt to sabotage MM may very well backfire in his face.
I agree his agent is working hard on the next gig. Why else would Mike sell his dfw house? But we can only guess.

McCarthy is the antithesis of what is “in” right now in the NFL. There are some dumb franchises out there though so anything is possible.

Well Now MM Is Free Agent End Of The Year and could go to other Teams..

Or is this Smoke & Mirrors Leaks Coming Out Just to Drive The Bargaining Chip/Driving Up The Price For MM To Get Jerry To Bite and Pay MM Top Dollar..Only a Fool In Jerry Would Do Such a Thing..
:muttley:

Breaking: From The The Rumor Mill.. Jerry Jones May Offer Mike McCarthy a New $105 million 5 year contract With annual salary of $21 Mill Per Year Beating Out Andy Reid, salary five-year, $100 million contract With annual salary of $20 million..

:laugh::grin::lmao::lmao2::huh::lmao2::facepalm::grin:

Chase is an idiot. These kinds of hirings are why the Bears suck most of the time. But go ahead, please take him off our hands and continue to be a loser franchise.

Who else remembers Mikes comments early on in his tenure about the way certain things were handled with this team?

I’m sure he had an idea of what he was in for, but was still taken aback considerably.

Who in history has gotten a third shot as HC (interim aside)? Maybe one or two I’ve forgotten.

It’s probably common knowledge that it’s impossible to win in Dallas. People can talk about Mike not having the team prepared all they like, but what about the FO having garbage DTs and no LBs? You’re supposed to stop the run how? Chicken or the egg?

I really don’t care if he comes back or not because the next handful of years are shaping up to be brutal as Jerry’s ego runs the team into the ground with bad decision after bad decision. You could reincarnate Vince Lombardi and he wouldn’t win with this FO.

A formal offer is tampering. Indicating to any or all 32 teams your head coach client will be open to offers is not tampering. I’d guess you are correct. His agent already knows what teams will seriously consider hiring McCarthy.

Exactly........a head coach can contact any team he's interested in. It rarely happens out of fear of being fired by his current team but how often an NFL head coach is in Mike's situation? Coaching a lame-duck season that's way more successful than expected. So instead of NOT getting an extension at the start of the season from his current team, he finishes the year with the probability of a few offers, including his current team. I have no doubt, this is why he's hired a new agent. To negotiate a new deal with other teams OR additional terms and/or conditions IF he signs a new agreement with Jerry

Isn’t Chicago Ben Johnson’s top target? Why would they even mention McCarthy’s name if they can get Johnson?

1) They would be crazy to not have multiple people interview if nothing else so that they have some leverage in salary negotiations.
2) Their last two hires have been the hot named coordinator...possible they want to go the safe route and get someone with HC experience to help get things on track.

If a team ever needed to make a move to get its head out of its rear end it’s the Las Vegas Raiders. That is my guess if Jerry Jones does not immediately step up and sign McCarthy. If the Cowboys want MM, the time to call Mr. Yee is right now.
