Game Over, Chiefs win. A lesson learned for the Chargers coach to not leave points on the field and board when there are chances to kick FGs in a competitive and close game. Just one FG attempt made would have saved this game from going into OT for the Chargers.

They only would have gotten in if the Chiefs kicked the FG or turned the ball over. The first to a TD in an NFL overtime wins the game.

It was a great game. Lot of action. A nail biter right to the end.

This is all said with the value of hindsight and what ifs.

that’s not how it works.

1. The rest of the game
Would not have been identical if you swap out going for it, for a field goal. Everything else that came after would be different.

2. When you make the decision you don’t know if you’re going to get the 4th down or not.


Somebody could also easily say that if the chargers offense managed to pick up 1 or 2 of those first downs. They would have blown out the chiefs and the chiefs wouldn’t have even had a chance to mount a comeback at all.

I wish the NFL would get their crap together with their rules. So much for balanced play. Both teams should have got the ball....it's the old argument why OT was changed to begin with.

How many times has a team lost to a high powered offense like the chiefs and after the game people are saying “they lost because they settled for field goals too often and didn’t score enough TD’s”
