Anyone else puke when Chris Berman was saying how he is concerned about TO as a human being?

My wife told me he mentioned it on the pre-game show and it made her sick knowing how much he hates Dallas and the Cowboys.

She thought it was very "self serving" of him.

Then I saw him say it on the highlights show late last night and I agree with her.

He wants us to believe that he is not loving this suicide thing and that he is honestly concerned about him as a human being.

Listen up Berman, first the suicide thing turned out to be false, so he has no "problems as a human being."

And if you didn't notice, he has no problems as a WR either.

Stop trying to make yourself look good.

I don't know about that... this is a game played by men. I may hate the Commanders, but if any of them went through what most people thought TO went through, I would be genuinely concerned for them. It's just a game, afterall.

The problem is the sanctimonious tripe projected by the media. They keep interjecting doubts into whether it was not really a suicide attempt even after the fact that the police classified it as an accidental overdose. I've read many articles including ones by Peter King and others still maintaining this air of doubt (we really don't know what happened, therefore T.O. may have still attempted to commit suicide even though he said he didn't, but he may be lying well because we've created an image of the man and he's really the devil blah blah blah).

I could care less what the intent of his (or anyone else's) message about Owens. That's something everyone connected with this franchise should acknowledge will happen for the next three years.

What has always bothered me about Berman is his very noticeable dislike for Dallas throughout the years. Certainly, he's a self-professed 49er fan, but he shouldn't allow it to color his comments every freaking time he talks about the Cowboys.

That's just the point, it wasn't a suicide attempt, which is what would prompt a concern for him as a human being.

I don't think his life was ever even in danger.

But yet he goes on and on as if it was to make himself look like some humanitariun.

He is not fooling anyone.

I don't like Berman much, but I'll take him at his word on this. There was enough said by TO's trainer, the conflicting police reports, etc. to wonder what the truth is. Even TO mentioned his ex-fiance' didn't call to see if he was all right. Nothing wrong with concern and caution.

And Bills, it seemed like for 10 years his SB prediction was SF vs. Buff.:lmao2: I don't think he ever predicted the Cowboys to the SB.

Wait a sec. How does any one know that? Owens himself admitted that he had an allergic reaction to the mixture of medication and supplements. If he had not been discovered and received medical treatment, it's possible that his health could have been adversely affected. To what degree, no one will ever know since he was discovered and attended to.

Dude, the whole suicide thing started when they thought there were 35 pills missing.

Once they were accounted for, the whole thing became a reaction to mixing meds, not suicide.

Plus if he had taken the 35 pills, they would have induced vomiting, pumped his stomach or something. None of which occured.

And if he had taken that many pills, no way would he have been able to practice on Wed. and handle the PC the way he did. Physically impossible.

There was NO suicide attempt.

Those still pushing this suicide concern angle are as bad a Berman.

Dude, I know what transpired. I actually read and listen too.

That is why I brought up the comments by his trainer and by what he himself said. I didn't even mention the 911 call.

There's more than enough reason for someone to be concerned and I take the man at his word. You don't, that's cool. I'm not going to rail on you for the difference of opinion. I don't care for Berman much but if he's concerned about the man it's a good thing.

I could understand if TO was a bipolar mess like Alonzo Spellman, but I wish everyone would give it a rest..

He does tout Buffalo also, but don't be fooled--he's a diehard 49er fan. You're right, though. He was especially pitiful throughout the Bills four-year Super Bowl run. And I doubt that he brags very much of the fact that San Francisco's Super Bowl opponent ended up being the Chargers and not the Bills.

Well, I won't brag about it, that's for sure. :)

I don't think his life was ever in danger myself, but let's say maybe it was because of the reaction to the meds.

It was still an accident.

Why the concern for him as a "human being" ?

Berman is a dweeb.

He hates Dallas and T.O., he just wants to shed negative light on us, but he is trying to look good while doing it.

Pretty self-serving.

Regardless of circumstance, many people offers gestures of concern about others whom they might not even like or appreciate. The gesture may not be genuine, but the act itself can be taken at face value.

He could've sent Owens a get well card. Instead, he told all his viewers. We may not feel that he's being truly honest, but perhaps the person most affected by the events in question, Owens, may think otherwise and accepted him at his word. Who knows?

Didn't even the Dallas PD finally stamp the event as an 'accidental overdose'? If he had not received medical treatment, isn't it possible that he could have damaged himself to an even worse degree? Luckily, for him, these are now moot questions.

I could care less what anyone's reason for caring about something noble is. I'm just glad they care or express care.

Commanders fans expressed anger over Haynesworth's actions yesterday. I don't care what prompted it. Just glad they showed some human compassion and decency.

No, we were discussing Owens as a human being, and your quote was "There's more than enough reason for someone to be concerned .." (about TO)

What reason ?
