Romo for Watt is dumb, but Romo to Houston makes a lot of sense.

Houston made the playoffs with a QB that got benched at some point and without Watt. They could go into 2017 with Watt back and Romo at QB. That would make them a legit Super Bowl contender.

Obviously the biggest problem is that Osweiler's 2017 salary appears to be guaranteed. That makes it really expensive, but elite QBs don't become available very often and teams like Houston are not always coming off of a season where they made the playoffs and are getting their best defensive player back.

If I were a Texans fan, I would be in favor of getting Romo.

That's because they screwed the pooch on the Osweiler deal. They can cut him before the 2018 season, but they are stuck next year.
In stock market investing, one of the biggest mistakes people make is to keep their money in a stock because that stock is down and they feel like they only lose when they cash out. In reality, the money is already gone and they should put their money in stocks that are most likely to perform.

If Osweiler is a bust, then he's a bust and forcing him to be the starter because of his salary is not a great decision. If they really believe that he can become a quality QB then that's one thing, but if they know he can't get them to the Super Bowl, then they should take the opportunity to get a better QB if that player is available.

Of course this will never happen, but with Watt returning and Brock at QB, does Houston have ANY chance at beating the top AFC teams? No way, completely impossible.

How about without Watt but with Romo at QB? Unlikely, but possible.

Probably some fan making up a what if scenario that somehow morphs into a rumor of a trade in the works. I seriously doubt the Texans would make that a straight up trade.

And yes someone will make the argument that their Defense was OK without Watt. That would still not be a fair straight up trade... It would require the Cowboys giving up Romo a first rounder and probably more.

But like I said... This is probably nothing more than a what if scenario that someone has morphed into a trade rumor.

Clowney would be a better trade anyway. Two injured players. Watt is the face of their franchise, and is more more cost restrictive for them to trade.

Didn't read the thread, but what the heck is he playing fantasy Madden?

Why don't we just trade Romo and a 1st and 2nd to the Broncos for Von Miller while we're at it smh.
