so what you have a man crush on him..or the eagles..im sick of the other teams signings posts..its out of control..first off we don't care second off this is not NEW News..most of us on here get real time push sports news and or watch or listen to sports shows more than we should..lets talk cowboys not Sheagles, Knats, or foreskins..sick of it some of you should go root for them burn your jerseys and get off our wagon! :)

Was the post title confusing in some way? Did you think it was a Cowboys signing?

If you don't want to read about activities of rival teams, you can easily skip those especially when they are clearly marked. The fact that you felt compelled to open the thread and take the time to reply means that not only does the thread generate more interest but it is also bumped to the top of the list.

As an aside, most of these types of thread end up in the NFL Zone or some other sub-forum in short order so it isn't as if the content clutters up the general Fan Zone for too long.

actually its not , has ZERO impact on us..until we play these teams really are meaningless and who they gain and lose make no difference, its how we play them on game day that matters..trying to figure out whos better or worse at this juncture is pure speculation and really isn't fun, its if we win or lose on game day..no one can predict that so why worry in March for God Sakes?

Then Take the time off.

The excuses know no bounds.

Eags slowly turning into a Pats type org where older vets (who still have ability) go to try for a ring or 2 before retirement. They finally got a coach and a QB and will be bursting with confidence this year.
it hasn't been slowly.
it's been superfast because the eagles have thrown out all sensibility and could care less about future assets or resources.
roseman has been uber aggressive.
they got out from under that empty trophy case.

but make zero mistakes what the pats did is a heck of a lot harder.
few if any other teams stay relevant at title hopefuls for years in the salary cap era.

in fairness this does belong in the NFL Zone per board rules.

The just won a SB and still have a 2-3 year window to win another one. But they are insensible?

LOL.

I will agree that what the Pats have done is very hard and likely won't be seen again in a long time.

Love Chris Long for the guy he is. Dedicated his entire 2017 salary.
But he is 32 years old and had 5 sacks last year.
If Dallas had signed him the crying would never stop.

He had 5 sacks AS A BACKUP DE.

And I would applaud the Cowboys if they had signed him this year. This team still lacks edge talent and the ability to get after the QB. Even with Lawrence dropping a massive career season, they were middle of the pack in the NFL in sacks and pressures.

It's why I would applaud them taking Harold Landry at 19 or a guy like Josh Sweat at 50. This team needs real talent on the edge.

You should.

They are the team we need to get past in this division and they've had a much better offseason to date than we have.

Nope. Still don’t care bout Long going back. It’s a long offseason.

Zero impact?

So if the Eagles decided to cut Wentz, Foles, Lane Johnson, Fletcher Cox, Zach Ertz, Alshon Jeffrey and Brandon Graham, that would have no potential impact on our season?

Who is worrying by the way? Nice strawman. These are just statements of fact. Long resigned in Philly. Philly now has a deep and dominant DL. What do you have an issue with there?

And here's the thing that nobody wants to consider, even when Wentz gets his megadeal (and he deservedly will), it will be backloaded to give the Eagles a few more years to get out from under their current deals. So you're actually looking at a 4-5 year window instead of 2-3 years. That's plenty of time to clear up your cap situation, if you're a competent team.

exactly people here just assume the eagles are going 8-0 in the division and are back int he SB..sorry that isn't the reality in this cap era other than NE but NE caught fire with an accidental 6th round pick in HOF QB, a cast off who poked the jets in the eye and took the NE job, and ownership who rather live in the shadows and let the football people do football..you cant get those three things to work and gel without a little luck as well..If you think the eagles are the new NE, get in line..teams can try but most fail..

BTW also that NE luck comes from about the weakest division in football that allows them to experiment all year with rosters and schemes and by the time they get to the playoffs they are ready..that was a big part of their success iMO and why they didn't win all the SBS..also the Oakland tuck rule debacle, bad playcall from Seattle etc gave them a few sbs..some cheating they got away with and some we may never know about..NE just cant be duplicated overnight..

As I recall, Long stood them up on a dinner date.

Then take a look at the cost vs production between Bennett and our own Tyrone Crawford. A Pro Bowl caliber player vs a guy without a true role. A guy that Dallas has to find ways to get on the field vs a guy that you can comfortably line up across the line. Dallas' "starter" at RDE right now out if sheer necessity, vs a guy that the Eagles have the luxury of rotating if they so choose.

This is not a bash against Crawford, this is just one small example of where the Eagles front office is running circles around our own.

Another stupid thing Marinelli and this defense does, moving players around in the name of versatility. Instead of just plugging them in and learning one position. One position where they can just line up and play. and not get confused in assignments. Not saying that they do all the time, but it sue seems like it more often than not.

That's what happens when every other guy on your team is a 3-tech, and you avoid 1-tech like the plague.
