Taco Charlton played 38% of our snaps and had 3 sacks and sucks and is "not explosive".
Mayowa played 33% of Dallas snaps and had 3 sacks and we cut him.

Again, if Dallas has signed a 32 year old Pass Rusher who had 5 sacks (and 12 in the last 3 seasons) this board would burn.

He's a solid signing for them at that cost to be sure but again it's another old player.
Few teams want 32 year old back ups.

People forget its not always about the fancy stats like Sacks ... Its Pressure , if you get Double teamed , stopping the rush and most important Experience / leadership

I can honestly say I didn’t know he was on the Eagles roster in 2017.

Thats why you get fans like me on Divisional Team sites ... You actually learn a little football besides that biased opinions lets say Id get from staying only on the Eagles site.

I enjoy good football conversation and debate. And, unlike some, I can give credit where credit is due, no matter the uniform. And I can respect others if they can respect me.

Not everyone is capable of doing that.

exactly people here just assume the eagles are going 8-0 in the division and are back int he SB..sorry that isn't the reality in this cap era other than NE but NE caught fire with an accidental 6th round pick in HOF QB, a cast off who poked the jets in the eye and took the NE job, and ownership who rather live in the shadows and let the football people do football..you cant get those three things to work and gel without a little luck as well..If you think the eagles are the new NE, get in line..teams can try but most fail..

BTW also that NE luck comes from about the weakest division in football that allows them to experiment all year with rosters and schemes and by the time they get to the playoffs they are ready..that was a big part of their success iMO and why they didn't win all the SBS..also the Oakland tuck rule debacle, bad playcall from Seattle etc gave them a few sbs..some cheating they got away with and some we may never know about..NE just cant be duplicated overnight..

because NE has had Bill and Tom so long it gets overlooked that there was a 10 year Gap in SB wins . 02, 04 , 05 Then not until 2015 until there next one . THen again 2017 . Thats not to take away anything from what they have done

IM 100% with you on that ... Some see a Eagles Fan and the hate just pours out . I can understand for people that come to others boards just to troll or smack talk . The problem is that some cant even see the difference between them. We have same problem on the Eagles site too ... But there is a bunch of good posters that are from Giants , Cowboys and even the Commanders " surprising " First and foremost we are all football fans which we have in common .

I had one member here crying to the Mods wanting me banned because Im a Eagles fan and did not like what I had to say . which was mostly the truth and not trolling .

I for one appreciate good conversation from rival fans. At times you make our own fans and their agendas look foolish. Especially the crap spewed from our own fans putting down anything that might be seen as a positive coming from the very team we support. Refreshing!

So you missed the NFC Championship game then? He was responsible for the errant throw that caused the pick 6 to start the blowout.

I've said it repeatedly...it takes a stable of edge rushers. The 1-Tech is important clogging up the run, the 3-Tech is important generating pressure inside, but you still need at least 3 reliable edge rushers. Having that pass rushing specialist off the bench is like the equivalent of a 6th man in basketball.

Let me be more clear, Long is a 32 year old JAG.
That's why he's played for what he's played for the lats couple season in a market that pays a decent DE starter 12M+.

If you want a 32 year old JAG back up that's fine but this move is nothing and in fact IS A PROGRESS STOPPER.
That's how it works when you give a 32 year old guy back up snaps that would ideally go to a 24 year old guy.

Long signed a one-year deal with Philly last year for one million per season with no guaranteed money. They made him earn this second contract. The free agents that helped them last year signed reasonable free-agent deals. Jeffrey signed a one year deal. I have no issue with the Cowboys not going out and signing these high-priced free agents who rarely produce after getting these big contracts but signing honey badger to a one year deal like he received from the Texans would have been a good signing. He’s betting on himself and that was an opportunity lost in my opinion.

Howie has come a long way since the Dream Team days and Chump Kelly team destruction. The Cowboys Have had the team to go all the way these past 4 years ... But the Jones family being too much involved really is killing the team . Which I dont mind BTW ... But the until the Day the Jones family become hands off owners nothing will really change .... You will have a good season here and their " Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in awhile " 2014-2016 were definitely Cowboys time . The team so so good they were able to over come both the Jones's and Garret's ineptitude

Lol wow. Did you watch football last season? Chris Long was great as a rotational guy for us. Made plays, especially in that Vikings game. Nobody is asking him to come in and put up double digit sack numbers. He is a vet playing his role really well with no complaints.

Well, we call vets that could play a rotational role "progress stoppers".

In the NE vs. Atlanta SB, he was the defender that was held, which pushed Atlanta out of field goal range. A FG there would have probably sealed the game for Atlanta.

Same here. I remember using the bathroom late in the 3rd quarter and thinking to myself "this 4th quarter is going to be great". It certainly was great...for Patriots fans. I couldn't believe my eyes and was constantly complaining that Atlanta was snapping the ball with double digit seconds remaining on the play clock. I thought Garrett was managing the game.
