There's no doubt about it. Cue the Joey Ivey video from last year.

Where's @Alexander when we need him?

And now it's "luck"...
some luck like what team you meet and when ie are you meeting them at full strength or with missing stars etc or timing on the schedules including schedules.., refs calling the games etc..other teams willing to trade to you for peanuts late in the year etc FA choosing you and just so happen to play well..most of those don't happen often, its called catching fire with luck as a booster..sure they have talent but without alittle luck it doesn't happen..you saying they KNEW Tom Brady was going to be a HOF for 19 yrs? like philly knew Jeffey, foles would be huge factors, that they could get a star running back right when they needed it and he would play well, no they knew none of it, they are hoping that some of these moves work but when they all do, its a lot of luck and great timing..doesn't mean it happens the next 4 years as well as last year..

exactly people here just assume the eagles are going 8-0 in the division and are back int he SB..sorry that isn't the reality in this cap era other than NE but NE caught fire with an accidental 6th round pick in HOF QB, a cast off who poked the jets in the eye and took the NE job, and ownership who rather live in the shadows and let the football people do football..you cant get those three things to work and gel without a little luck as well..If you think the eagles are the new NE, get in line..teams can try but most fail..

BTW also that NE luck comes from about the weakest division in football that allows them to experiment all year with rosters and schemes and by the time they get to the playoffs they are ready..that was a big part of their success iMO and why they didn't win all the SBS..also the Oakland tuck rule debacle, bad playcall from Seattle etc gave them a few sbs..some cheating they got away with and some we may never know about..NE just cant be duplicated overnight..

The AFCE has always been a weak division. It was weak when Miami was winning through the 70's. Not to say NE or Miami were bad teams, as they did to go on to win SB's. But they got to the playoffs every year by means of weak divisions. And got HFA because of that. 12 to 14 wins every year, and 11 to 12 when there where 14 games.

The NFCE has always had very strong divisions. That is why it was unusual for a team to get 12 wins. Get 13 or 14 wins in our divisions, and now that is a team. We dominated with Landry, so that says how really good of a coach he was, however, we always had one team right on our tails. Rarely our division was ever a runaway like the AFCE.

I expect it to be the same this year, we will duke it out with the Eagles, and I even expect the giants and Commanders to make an effort and have a few upsets in there. Hopefully all against each other and against the Eagles and not us. LOL.

It is the off season and I am no where near conceding it to the Eagles. We have until December to see how things are.

It's another excuse is what it is. And you use it as one to excuse other teams being smarter than this one. It's a nice eraser attempt for better planning and execution, which is what gives you a better chance for that "luck" you want to talk about.

Again, it's an immeasurable, grey area excuse for the losers. Like "leadership", "intangibles", "organizational ability", and all of the other unmeasurable, losing buzzwords we've been fed for over two decades. Along with "goshdarn bad luck".

Suh is still out there but we know that is not going to happen.
Only can hope they go DT in the 1st. Vea, but he may be gone. Hurst was cleared by the Doctors, he may be there or Payne. I would take any of those 3.
Now that Hurst was cleared of having a HEART condition. He is now tops on Jerry and Stephen'...list for the 2nd round. Our 2nd rounds are similar to Russian Roulette.

When did this board turn into the Eagles? I am really trying to forget they won the SB...

You should.

They are the team we need to get past in this division and they've had a much better offseason to date than we have.
Championships aren't won in the offseason. Just aske the Resskins. I am trying to put a positive spin on our dismal FA effort, weak as it maybe.

Ignorance is bliss so you must be a happy guy. Completely ignorant and unaware, but happy.

But unlike you, I'm a grownup. A man who can see reality and not have to run or hide my eyes from it.

I can bear to see a team that beat our ***** and win the Super Bowl last year getting even better while the Cowboys get worse.

But yeah, you go ahead and point to things that happened years ago, when virtually nobody associated with the Eagles was even there, but don't let facts get in your way. Ya see, some teams actually learn from past mistakes, and some teams don't.

Eagles do, and have, Cowboys don't.

And there's another harsh truth that you'll have to shield your sensitive eyes from. Or campaign for someone to "make it go away!" so you don't have to deal with it.

And despite all of this, which you think are foibles, the Eagles have easily outpaced us as a franchise the last two decades. Think about that for a second. We have three playoff wins over that period. The Eagles have 6 NFC Title Game appearances. LOL.

Here's the reality. They just are a better franchise right now. I mean anyone who isn't totally biased would look at both teams and conclude the Eagles are just better right now. There's no shame in saying that. It's just reality.

And in an offseason where we were told the Cowboys knew they had to improve and fans said the Eagles would struggle because of their cap, one team actually has improved this offseason and one has pretty much stayed status quo.

Hence, the frustration from some of us.

Love Chris Long for the guy he is. Dedicated his entire 2017 salary.
But he is 32 years old and had 5 sacks last year.
If Dallas had signed him the crying would never stop.

I respect what Long did, certainly.

However, he's from a wealthy family and made over 100 million in his NFL career.

Long gets a lot of credit for taking positive steps whereas others have done the same and received nothing but hate.

Not from me.
I credit anyone who dedicates time and money to helping people.
I don't give credit to any Eagle lightly.
Donating millions is very different than donating 50 bucks especially when you have no real guarantee of future income.
I respect Mark Cuban and Long's overall continued largess.
Jerry Jones as well.

He only played 48% of the defensive snaps...so 5 sacks isn’t too shabby and is sort of the whole point of their constant DL rotation

Jerry Jones as well.

Chris Long donated 1 million.

Colin Kaepernick donated 1 million.

Brandon Marshall donates $300 per tackle.

Michael Bennett donated all his endorsement money and half his jersey sales.

Not enough positive press for some of these guys.

Taco Charlton played 38% of our snaps and had 3 sacks and sucks and is "not explosive".
Mayowa played 33% of Dallas snaps and had 3 sacks and we cut him.

Again, if Dallas has signed a 32 year old Pass Rusher who had 5 sacks (and 12 in the last 3 seasons) this board would burn.

He's a solid signing for them at that cost to be sure but again it's another old player.
Few teams want 32 year old back ups.

I think it could change some things. I have little doubt Stephen and Jerry have crafted their roster building plan on defense largely with Marinelli's input.

Picturing Stephen and Jerry crafting their roster building plan...

"What do you think, Dad?"

"THIS time, son, we've got it right. We're gonna make a splash next season!"

...doesn't fill me with confidence.

You're mature enough to handle it. Not everyone is.

Thats why you get fans like me on Divisional Team sites ... You actually learn a little football besides that biased opinions lets say Id get from staying only on the Eagles site.
