Are you saying he doesnt get beat? Yea Lbers are supposed to make tackles. DBs, in my opinion, should be able to prevent a pass to some degree..which Church rarely does. And as far as tackling goes Church had his share of broken ankles last year as well.

What do you think the word "safety" means? When you have rookie 4th rounders starting, don't you think there will be some guys who slip through the cracks? I'm not saying he's an all pro, but I doubt there are 10 strong safeties better than him.

That is from 2013. I don't understand what point you are trying to convey. It has Ed Reed at 55, who isn't even in the league.

Church's tackles most if them come from him stepping up as the last line of defense, he comes up big on run support, Wilcox and Church are very alike, form solid group back there.

He covers way better than wilcox.

He is a lot more instinctual out there in comparison. Wilcox just looks like what he is, a running back trying hard to pretend he is a safety.

Church is one of the most surest tacklers on our team. Although Wilcox was great in his pro day at covering WRs, it's never translated in the NFL and his tackling isn't on the level of Church's. Sure, he lays the wood when he gets the rare chance, but Church was always on the spot to clean up what the LBs left behind. Barry is not great at coverage but, instead, just an old school pure tackling SS. Our focus should be at FS and not SS. Hopefully Jones, White, or the kid from Central Michigan will give us that center-fielding FS we need because Wilcox will never be that oversized CB turned ball-hawk that we are missing.

I don't see anyone outright disrespecting him. Most of what I see people saying is that he is an average SS, which is the truth. Not even Church can argue that.

He just isn't the FS that some of us (including myself) hoped he'd turn out to be.

with a pass rush, we'll soon see how good our backfield looks..........
