Even though I have never really liked Church, I think we aren't realizing how much worse of a team we are right now.

Every other team has draft picks also, so they can improve there too. Not like we cornered the market on the draft, other teams can draft also.

Heath does manage to actually catch interceptions, if that's any consolation.

Not rueing this one but don't bank on the draft to fill 3/4 of our defense. At least, our secondary knows the system but it will suck to get worse FA's to fill out the roster

Honestly, at this point i'd say just purge the old guard. If we need to just use this season as a baseline for 2018 forward then so be it.

Not sure who's available next FA but if there's two young blue chippers on the market that look to have 8-10 year careers in the NFL at a high level ,we could sign both of them.

I agree, NY. We can't keep losing these guys and expect reserves to pick up their slack. Church was solid. Solid enough to where, barring a signing of Eric Berry (and, obviously he was extended), Church was our guy.

Going into this draft with too many holes on D sets us back. It is what it is, tho. No way in hell we pay Chrch that.

Hope we can re-sign Wilcox for a decent price. He's a thumper and he vastly improved last season. A late bloomer of sorts.
