I think you mean Eric Winston....not Winston Justice. I've seen nothing that links Justice to the Boys.

Most reports have Clabo as their top choice.

I'd prefer Clabo. He had a good year last year after his early season hip issues cleared up. He offers a little more flexibility. He's played guard...started at guard his first year in Atlanta. I don't know if he'd want to play guard or if we see him as one. But if so, he could slide over to guard at some point, maybe his second year here, if Parnell proves he could handle RT.

Which ever guy we can get to sign a short 2 year contract is the guy that we will go after. At this point, we can't really afford the luxury of taking the best guy IMO. We have to sign the guy who will accept the deal we can afford. That might not be either guy. Might be somebody else all together.

Whoever is cheaper, try to add a guard or DE and this free agency would be a success.

Yeah, and I'm thinking if Free is gone that they end up looking at someone cheaper to sign as a swing tackle. They may think Parnell is ready to start. I wouldn't have a problem with that. I'm a little higher on Parnell than many here.

Actually, Clabo is the only choice here.

Eric Winston is pretty much another Doug Free. Same guy. Free was actually decent the last three games.

Fisher was on again this morning talking out the musical chairs with offensive tackles.

He says, as we know, that Dallas has the leverage here.
More interestingly, he says
  • Clabo is a clear upgrade. Lot of competition for him though.
  • It is debateable if Winston is actually a clear upgrade over Fisher--he's not sure Dallas thinks so. In either case, he is a less expensive ption that Free is currently.

This isy preference as well. Ideally, I'd love for them to sign Moore and a vet swing tackle. Smith-Livings-Fred-Moore-Parnell would be a solid lineup, vastly superior to last season.

If you're gonna settle on Winston, you might as well put Parnell in there instead. If you can't get Clabo, I would either sign a swing tackle at the vet min or use Cook at the backup RT. He played RT for Minnesota when Adrian Peterson rushed for the most yards ever in a game.

id rather have moore come in and have Parnell start. We need to see what Parnell can do.

I'm all for getting Moore and starting Parnell at RT, but that would mean we'd likely have to cut Livings. I can't see a lineup with Livings and Moore, since we didn't restructure Livings so we'd use that money saved by cutting him to sign Moore.

Clabo is simply the better player of the two and would help the most, just pay the man and lets do this thing right for TOny.

Why can't you see that lineup?

I think we could swing bringing both into camp, but we'd have to give Moore more than an one-year deal. But we could preserve some options if we think Costa or Leary could play at Livings' level for cheaper.

Swing OT is still a huge question mark, though.

Winston is asking for a one-year, $3-4 million deal. And no one is calling.

Winston is not much better than Free, if at all.

If Winston is better than Free, it can't be by much. I find it odd that Winston is looking for a job with his 3rd team.

Where do you get the cap space to "Do This Thing?"
