Claiborne Believes He'll Be Ready For Start of TC

This is why I love Cowboyszone. Where else do you hear good jokes like "Healthy" and "Claiborne" in the same sentence?

I think too much is made of his wonderlic score, No doubt he is not going to be a Doctor or rocket scientist but he has been playing football most of his life and at a very high level in college SEC conference I think he has a grasp of the CB position. I think he came out and has had difficulty adjusting to the pro game and setbacks with injuries but in terms of his IQ, I don't see that as an issue.
There have been and are many who are as dumb as rocks but when it comes to playing sports they do have a grasp of what is going on

I do wonder if that's why he's better in man than zone though.

Carr has problems with zone as well but better in man. I don't doubt at all that Claiborne as a learning disability but I think he understands the game of football quite well.

If he could just be a good nickelback we could have Jones play FS where I think he will be more effective out of the gate. That would be huge for our team,.. so what do you say Mo... think you can play a little NB?

Claiborne hasn't been as bad as everyone makes him out to be, he just hasn't lived up to the draft day trade and never will.

That old standard is gone. If he can get on the field he can help this team, this year.

His 2.6m contract is guaranteed and he will be gone soon enough but I want him to succeed here first.

I want him to have success as well. I do think what looked like promise in his rookie year has been a disaster the last 2 season. He has been dealing with injuries but even when he has not had injuries he has played poorly in my view. I do agree he likely will never live up to the Billing. I sometimes think it is that billing that has hurt him as he has tried to live up to that and failing I think has taken a toll on his confidence.

Mo has millions of reasons to show maturity and toughness he hasn't up to this point.

If he wants to keep getting paid to play football he needs to have a big year.

If he doesn't it is a spent cost that has already been accounted for.

Well Claiborne is a cowboy so as long as he's a cowboy I'll be pulling for him, but just reading or hearing his name irritates the heck out of me. I think most of us here can agree he's a bust.

All of us should be pulling for Mo. It would save using a high draft pick to find his replacement.

You really don't need to spend a high draft pick to replace MO..................a 4th or 5th rounder would play just as good if we are being honest here.

Did you guys actually watch Mo when he was healthy?.....................its not like he is a stud that just cant stay healthy (see Sean Lee), even when healthy Mo sucked.

Funny Ryan Williams is a secret weapon yet has done nothing yet Mo is a compete bust. All of this talk of how Williams is really good that is why he was drafted as high as he was yet I see no one cutting any slack to Mo what so ever.

Ryan Williams is such a stud that he spent the entire season on the practice squad...............yea, his 167 career yards is our secret weapon:laugh:

Mo is such as stud that the team has already announced they are not picking up the 5th year option. Go back and look at draft threads, one of the main reasons given for drafting a guy in the 1st round as compared to trading out of the 1st and into the 2nd round is that you would lose the 5th year option when drafting a guy in the 2nd round.

Bottom line.........if a team drafts you in the 1st round and then forgoes your 5th year option...........that is as close to an admission of a bust as you can get in the NFL.

Not really, there are first rounders that don't even make it 4 years. Those are the true busts.

Mo has been a huge disappointment but I wouldn't quite say bust.

Mo Claiborne has had a brutal run of misfortune as a Cowboy. I'll simply wish him a turnaround in 2015.

If he can stay healthy and just become an average NFL quality CB, that would be a big plus.

Yep..

Knees are tricky things.

I'd be happy if he returns by mid-season.

He should really forget about TC and just keep working things until he's ready.

I hope he can get things back on track and Marrinelli gets him dialed in.

If you are drafted 6th overall and the team doesn't pick up the 5th year option.................that's a bust bro.
