Claiborne or Carr?

Who do we play where we'll ever be in base defense? Besides obvious running situations we'll have 3 or more corners at all times. The Giants have OBJ,Cruz,Shep,Harris out there..imagine our lbs covering any of those guys? Holy hell that would be bad.

Carr is more consistent and reliable than Mo, maybe that changes in 2016...

the way everyone is raving about Mo this off season... im gonna guess him but I'll be honest. I don't have a clue. I'm not even sure why either of them are still on the team

It's called the base defense.

A 4-3 defense has 2CBs, 2 Safeties, 3 LBs and 4 DL as it's base formation.

A defense with 3 CBs (5 DBs) is called the Nickel defense.

A defense with 6 DBs is called a Dime defense.

Read the Giants will go mostly with an 11 package. Scandrick will be in the slot most of the night vs Cruz or Shepherd.

The defense plays base (2 CBs) if the offense has 2 WRs. The defense plays Nickel (3 CBs) if the offense has 3 WRs.

Most offenses play with 2 WRs over 40% of the time.

If you see a FB in the game, then there are likely only 2 WRs on the field. Same with 2 TEs.

If you ever saw the Cowboys offense with the TE Hanna or Escobar on the field the past few years, then the Cowboys probably only had 2 WRs on the field.

I'll stick with Carr and Claiborne to start with Scandrick playing the 3rd CB or slot, till i see otherwise...i could be wrong will see.

Scandrick will play all snaps. He is the top CB on the team.

When they are in the base defense there will only be 2 CBs on the field. The 2nd CB has to be either Carr or Claiborne.

Base packages are relatively uncoomon at this point. They're in nickel and dime more than theyre in 4-3-4 base defense.

Scandrick will be out there every down no matter how many WRs the offense has (unless they go with 0 maybe). He's the starter. He's the top starter. When the other two are on the field he moves inside to the slot, but he is always out there.

From what I've seen, I'd go with Claiborne on the other side and bring in Carr for nickel. I think teams pick on him the most.

It's not rare. Defenses play base on average about 40% of the snaps.

OScan is the best CB going into this season but if Mo stays healthy all season, that won't be the case for too long into 2016. The light may have come on for Mo and it's no surprise that it coincides with him coming into the offseason and training camp sans surgery or injury. Hope the kid stays healthy all season and Dallas can muster a pass rush to aid the back end guys.

I would say Claiborne at this point. He looked like he had improved a lot and was healthy in his preseason snaps. I'm not down on Carr (just his contract) but I think Claiborne is the #2 at the moment.

Teams pick on Carr the most because he guards the opposing teams best receiver. I'm just basing my opinion on the fact Scandrick is coming off a injury and how they use to play him they've always had him in the inside and Mo and Carr on the outside.
