There is no way they CUT him. I mean come on people... not only does it not fit Jerry, even if you bench him (unlikely), you keep him for depth. It's not like we have shutdown corners all up and down the roster.

The kid skipped practice and left the facility today after losing his starting job. What a waste. He doesn't deserve to start and is lucky to be on the field at all after his recent performance. Yes, he made a nice play at the end but did he even consider if he had been even decent during the game his play at the end would not have been such a big deal.

He is not only weak physically but now it appears that he is weak mentally which as a CB at this level is paramount to being successful.

He is turning out to be a total joke of a player and someone that I was really hopeful he would turn it around just a few weeks ago. I would place him as the 4th corner until he gets his head right and his play warrants more playing time.

As of now he doesn't deserve to be on the practice squad. He is terrible and looks like he is regressing instead of progressing

I was watching ESPN earlier this morning and saw a snip-it from ESPN (Dallas) that read something like this -- Garrett: Claiborne status up in the air.

Of course I was trying to speculate exactly what was meant without having read the actual article. Just don't have the time. I doubt the writer meant anything regarding status due to injury. So it might mean that the confidence the coaches have in Mo is beginning to dwindle.

I have always stood by the pick of Morris Claiborne, but for some reason since coming out of LSU, he has yet to live up to his billing. With that said, I really like Sterling Moore and that kid Patmon. If Garrett has any reservations about Mo, now is the time to see what Patmon or Moore have going for them as starters. IMHO, I honestly do not believe there would be any drop off in play replacing Mo with one of these two guys I just mentioned. At the very least, if the Cowboys brass decided to go with Sterling or Patmon and it didn't pan out, it's not like the level of play would decline. If anything, the level of play would be on par with what we are currently seeing in Mo. Then again, the level of play just might begin to trend upwards with Patmon or Sterling manning an island opposite Carr/Scandrick.

Now before anyone blows a gasket; I do realize that our secondary is handicapped due to a lack of a consistent pass rush, YET AGAIN. But the lack of a consistent pass rush has been a problem for the Cowboys for the last 2 to 3 seasons. So regardless, it might be time to sit our 1st round CB for a bit; and let's see what we have in this Patmon kid, or Moore. The secondary is going to have to come around and help out. Let the best players play. For that to happen, sometimes you have to change things up to actually find out.
I am not here to bash Mo, but I believe we might have a solution between 2 other players on our team not named Morris Claiborne. I do hope that Jason Garrett and Rod Marinelli have mulled this over; and maybe, just maybe, that little ESPN (Dallas) "teaser" means that Garrett and Rod are considering the options.

If Mo remains the starter, nothing will change regarding my support for the kid. It'll be 100%. But I truly hope that if Moore or Patmon are having better practices, and out-performing Morris during the week, they need give one of those two guys a legitimate shot.

Amen?

Lmbo @ this title. His status has been up in the air since pick #6 went into the books.

Scandrick and Carr ate the starters, Claiborne was starting because of scandrick suspension.

That being said maybe Moore and Patmon haven't beat out Claiborne in practice and no matter how much you guys dislike him doesn't mean he is that bad. Carr has given up TDs and big plays, Church, Romo, Dez, Murray all of your favorites have messed up and given up big plays but because y'all like them they get a pass? That's not right call it like you see it. While Claiborne has gave up plays he has also made big plays. Let the season play out 3 year rule people

No he's that bad. This just seals the deal.

If you don't have a pass rush, your corners will end up giving up catches sooner or later, bottom line.

Please watch the Quick 51 TD again. Clairborne, who BTW was drafted for his abilities to play press man coverage, was never within 2 yards of him at any point, and after 5 yards was several steps behind and never able to come close to catching up. No pass rush on Earth would have stopped that touchdown.

He played 2 yards off the guy before the snap and then didn't even lay a finger or breathe on him at the snap. Let him just sprint up the sideline.

For being lauded as playing press coverage, that was by far one of the worst displays of press coverage I've seen in all my years of playing and watching the position. Piss poor. And shows either a lack of toughness or a lack of situational awareness.
