I will always agree that you start with the trenches and how you succeed is usually decided by the trenches. With this said, Dallas won't be able to run well again till they get a TE that can at least block a little bit.
The biggest need this team has is LG, and truthfully maybe C-LT. With that said it is biggest NEED, but not biggest IMPACT.
Biggest IMPACT is 1T on D that is dynamic. Biggest IMPACT on offense is a TE that helps with the running game and is good enough to be a dynamic RAC guy for check down charlie.
Dallas will draft high another WR that is a good receiver, and that is fine, except that there is still only one ball. There are only 5 places you can throw the ball on any one play. I have been told we have the #1 in CD. #2 in Gallup (Washington his backup). Zeke can go/stay in to pick up blitzes or go flats #5. So we need a #3 and #4. #4 is the TE, who needs to be able to block strong side and be the check down charlie. So who is the #3???? Why do we keep pushing for a high level WR right now? We need a #3 WR. Preferably one who is a great ko/punt returner or one with elite speed to get deep. Danny Gray has 4.33 speed and 6'1" size. He can be had 3rd day. Fehoku has straight line speed and can clear out sides allowing for CD to line up in the slot. I do not see the huge need for a high draft pick WR. Pollard at
#3WR could get those balls since we always seem to want him to get more touches.
So my expectations is that Dallas will take a WR with a high draft pick. They will ignore 1T or get a guy late that is not dynamic at all. They will take a TE that is really just another WR or one that is really just another lineman, not dynamic at all. I know they will do this because they seem to always try to build opposite of how I would build and the last 26 years proves to me that they think they are smarter than everyone, but aren't.
