Nevermind.
This is his answer.
"Yeah I've never really thought Romo's arm was his strong point. I mean, there were reasons he went undrafted. I think he tries to make up for it with craftiness and "moxie" as they say, but who knows if it'll work."
Your previous post was about the most reasonable and well argued I have seen on this issue yet.JackMagist said:This debate has officially degenerated into childish bickering and oneupmanship.

You know - that's funny. I guess I get what I deserve sometimes ... but you gotta admit the "Leave it to BZ" thing was funny too ...
Despite our disagreements and variations of perspective ... I really have no hard feelings towards you, Hos or anyone involved in this debate ... I hope we keep that in mind as the season goes on and enjoy this year like we should as fans ...
BZ, other than QB's we agree on a lot ... I just have a feeling the back up spot IS going to be an issue this year ...
But back to my point. No hard feelings here, man. Nothing personal at all. In fact, I'm thankful that I have the ability to exchange thoughts and ideas with fans as passionate and deranged as I am about the Dallas Cowboys.
Say I'm not a fan if you want ... but why the frick would I spend so much time, posting so much about the team if I wasn't ...
I have no question you are a fan too ... I just hope we keep this debate thing in perspective and don't get too out of hand ... the Eddie Haskell type stuff I can handle all day long ... and so can you I think ...
In the middle of this debate or whatever you want to call it ... I hope we all (and that means everybody) stop to think that the most important agenda we all have in mind is the team ...
Just wanted to let you and the rest of the guys know that it's nothing personal and I like all of you ... it's just something we're all passionate about and enjoy debating about ...

Here's to a successful season for all of the Dallas Cowboys and their fans.
Drink up bastids.

Romo throws the ball faster than ANYONE in last years draft.....Imagine knocking accuracy and touch and completions? And going gaga over 46% cannonlike darts. In my best Cheech and chong impression... "Hey dude, did you see that? Man, a lil foggy but man I think that was a laser man. Yeagh dude - he's gonna be good. For sure Henson is good chit. That Romo dude looks short. Good one man, your killing me - stop it. Wow - see that one - I think it was a 40 yard out dude. Who was it? I don't know man but he was tall. Henson rocks man. High five. Wait was that Bledsoe? Nah he sux couldn't be man. Yeagh thats right.
Bang should run with this one......
Inside Dish: Utah's Smith answers criticisms at Combine
Posted: March 6, 2005
Utah QB Alex Smith has been criticized for lacking athleticism, but he had an answer at the Combine. Smith, who could be the first overall pick in the draft, was first among quarterbacks in the 20-yard shuttle with a time of 3.96 seconds. He finished second among quarterbacks in the three-cone drill with a time of 6.82. He even broad-jumped 9-5, which ranked him sixth among quarterbacks. . . .
Which quarterback prospect throws the hardest? Surprise, surprise, it's Purdue's Kyle Orton. His "ball speed" was timed at 57.3 mph at the Combine. . . .

I think if Romo had as strong of a arm as some people say he has then he would have never gone undrafted.
Here is my own opinion of Romo.
His arm strength I think is good to very good. I know he can throw harder then he did in the Cards game. But he does not have a big time cannon like Henson does.
Seriously sometimes it looks like Henson just flips is wrist and the ball still explodes outta his hands. I do not see that with Romo.
I do beleive Romo CAN throw 57 mph. But I also believe that Henson has to be throwing in the 70s somewhere because his passes just have great velocity on them and are much harder then Romos.
If Romo has time to set then yeah he can put good zip on the ball. Just not like Henson can.
Now lets NOT talk about arm strength.
I think Romo can be a good QB in the NFL. He is very accurate and he is more athletic then people think. He does make fast reads and usually makes very good decisions. He has a great feel for pressure coming in and is very good at sidestepping and moving around to make plays. Romo is also a smart QB. With the little play time he gets he makes the most of it and does pretty good.
In that Cards game Romo did play good. Had it not been for our OL there is a good chance Romo could have thrown a TD or at least got a FG outta that.
Romo also looks at QB that can really improvise as broadcasters say. If a play falls apart Romo has made some very good plays. I think Romo sees the field really good.
I am not sure why anyone is knocking Romos size. He is 6'2" 228 lbs. 6'2" is not a short QB. Funny how nobody knocks Michael Vick who is uhhhh supposed to be 6'0".
Fact is I like Henson more cuz he has everything you want in a QB. Big strong athletic fast and a rocket arm. You dont find those often. But who knows it will be tuff for Romo to beat out Henson in the future but I will not rule it out.
If Romo is the man we can build the O to his strengths. And yes he does have a strong nuff arm to make most throws. And yes I think Romo can be a good QB in the NFL.

Last years draft - NO ONE AT COMBINE THREW HARDER THAN 57. I have a 2000 article that has a player throwing 54.7 top 5 at combine.
Favre at 61 is a cannon. No way anyone is throwing 70 - especially Henson....
JackMagist said:Morton / Staubach was a classic QB tug-o-war. The bigger Morton with the more powerful arm and all of the measurables against the smaller Staubach with a merely adequate arm and all of the intangibles.
Hmmm...I knew there was something familiar about this Henson / Romo thing.

This one will be real interesting before it's over.....and I mean really over, not just who gets the #2 gig this season.
junk said:Exactly. Hopefully someone pans out.
I am not convinced that whoever wins #2 will hold it all season no matter if it is Henson or Romo.
You will never see them.blindzebra said:I replied to a post about nothing bad happening in Romo's performance, with observations on 4 throws where arm strength did come into play.
I really love the overreaction to observations around here.
I could cite multiple posts that are complete fabrication about things Henson did or did not do on Saturday, so where is the out cry in those threads from you?
