Words don't offend me. It takes a weak person to let a simple word bother them that much.
Was listening to their flagship radio station on 10/8/13 WTEM 5:00 PM.
Steve Czaben the host did a segment on the top 10 Cowboys *******
If that was not classless enough , his # One Cowboy ******* was Coach Landry
I know it's all about ratings but that was about as lowdown as they come !
I hope the Cowboy lay a beat down on that team !
It's hard to say they're classless when a lot of Cowboys fans of making fun of RG3 for ripping up his knee.
You mean you don't find RGKnee funny?
I think it's beyond ******** we can't even use their team name on this forum to discuss football.
Perhaps we should censor Cowboys and go with the more politically correct Cowpeople.
Thank you, why show respect for a foe of the Cowboys. I will insult the Redsk*ns and steelers always and show neither any respect.
What you fail to realize is you actually love the Redsk*ns. And Redsk*ns fans love the Cowboys. Love to hate, but still love. Imagine the NFL without your top rival. You would miss them. I don't ever want to experience the heated rivalry of the Cowboys/Generals or whatever name the PC babies/professional victims find palatable.
There's too much history there to throw away. I stand with my feather wearing brethren in defense of their name. I'll just be the one without the hog snout and dress on.
I always put the asterisk in their name as a reminder that their Superbowls come with an asterisk because of the strike-shortened seasons. I think it's become a habit for a few of us, but I can't speak for anybody else's reasoning.
EDIT, looks like the joke was institutionalized.

This couldn't be more wrong. Regardless of the word's origin, it has been considered a racist and derogatory term since the 1960's. Before then it was becoming more and more derogatory starting as far back as 1875, as literary studies of the word have shown. By the time it was chosen for the team name it was certainly viewed by many as a negative term and let's not forget that the man that chose the name was a known and unashamed racist who refused to sign black players until the league forced him to and who set up a foundation with explicit rules that no funds ever be put towards anything or anyone that didn't believe in segregation. I don't think it's a coincidence that that man chose an increasingly negative name for Native Americans. To me, it doesn't matter what a word meant 100's of years ago. It matters what it means now and the term is now soo widely viewed as racists that it hasn't been used in everyday conversations in nearly 50 years and every dictionary that chooses to define it proclaims it to be racist and derogatory. Why would anyone want to be associated with a word that has become racist?
Then shouldn't it read Redsk**ns?
I would like an apology from your staff member, Idgit.
Lol! I'm sure you would. Good luck Sunday. You're going to need it.
