JJ loved that we were “hanging around the rim” after last season. In his view— we are “competing” and “finishing strong” this season.

There are those that claim he is just about the $$$ and is intentionally uninterested in putting a winning team out there and that he is indifferent to their performance.

I am afraid the malady is far more severe than greed, indifference, and being cheap. I think he ACTUALLY believes the fantasy that we are good enough to win the superbowl each and every year.

I think every year he literally talks himself into viewing his rosters as being capable and competent of getting the job done. I think he truly believes in the tripe he puts out there in the media.

Every player will play to his potential. Every second year player will develop. Every bargain bin player they take a flyer on will work out, etc….

It is terrifying to watch him point at this team now and convince himself that everything is rainbows and unicorns on the good ship lollipop. He is most certainly preparing to run it back and sell this season’s struggles as an anomaly and injury-plagued fiasco.

He has gone to the store and come back with all the lipstick he can find for his pig.

He will start selling 2025 the moment 2024 ends by “rallying” around extending Big Mike and hyping up how this roster “fought” and “competed” to the end.

It would be hilarious if it wasn’t so tragic.
Bold #1: Yes. Perception is everything. Jerry can say otherwise, but only a fool would believe him.

Bold #2: The team sucked before the injuries and Jerry admitted as much. Why the change of tune now?

Sorry, I misunderstood....you mean that you and your buddies are the minions, since you haven't left. Sorry for the misunderstanding. I'm glad you finally dropped your BBs and admitted it. Good for you.
no one believes your posts anymore, you do know that right?

Great post. The situation is bad. Stephen waits in the wings. He is worse than Jerry. All the arrogance and none of the charm of his daddy. Plus, and no one talks about this, they built that stupid analytics team. That is going to be a confirmation bias engine that will fuel all their dumb decisions. This is worse than the Campo era right now.

The Texas Rangers move to a quick solution to law and order compliance, and Jerry is a product of that kind of edge in sport as well.

Close enough against the Eagles involves this:

Tolbert had two key plays against the Bucs, including a first-quarter TD to give Dallas a 10-0 lead. Also in the second quarter, his second effort on a catch resulted in a first down on what was an eventual scoring drive.

Tolbert ranks second on the team with 462 receiving yards, but is tied with CeeDee Lamb with six TD grabs.

(Tolbert is carrying serious pain threshold just as is Lamb.)

Jerry is a problem, of course, but I don't get all the anger about this year. Do people expect there to be no drop off losing all these players, especially the starting QB? It does matter who is wearing those jerseys on game days.
You make a fair point, but I think a lot of the anger towards Jerry is his talk of being “all in” and then doing practically nothing to improve the team in the offseason, despite losing key role players.
And then try to placate the fans by giving a lot of crap answers, which in the process only served to insult the fans’ intelligence.

Is it my imagination or has the red-zone offense been better here recently? Any reason for that? What can they still do better? – Bill Grady/San Diego, CA

Patrik:
It has indeed improved, and I attribute that to two things: a willingness to stick to the run a bit more often than in weeks prior, and execution by players.

That is a Head Coach's influence...

He believes HE is good enough to win the Super Bowl every year. I think Jerry believes he is doing a masterful job putting pieces on the board and if they fail, it is not because of him. It has to be something else. I am sure money is part of it, although I don't think it is the primary factor in his thinking about the Cowboys. EGO is the driving factor for Jerry.

Better watch out, Jerry respects the Pope as well...and this is completely unreasonable...

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, who is in the Pro Football Fame not only as a team executive but also as contributor to helping grow the league, said he feels like the NFL will ensure it’s always playing on Christmas, no matter what day of the week the holiday falls on.

“Christmas Day is Christmas Day, and it doesn’t wait around for what day it’s on,” Jones said on 105.3 The Fan on Tuesday. “We want to be there on Christmas Day.

I totally get that and agree with it. Trust me, I can't stand Jerry, either. And I'll never understand why he punted on this year.

What I don't get is being that mad at the coaching. You can only do so much when you don't have players. But some seem to think anyone wearing a Cowboys jersey should win just because of the uniform.

That was a quote from Stephen...just shut up.
lol, and this was more of the complete picture at work...

Think about it this way: Currently on injures reserve are Dak Prescott, DeMarcus Lawrence, Zack Martin and Trevon Diggs. Those guys alone count $93.5 million against the $255.4 million salary cap. That right there consumes 37 percent of the cap. And if we add in other players with Pro Bowls on their resumes missing multiple games, guys such as Brandin Cooks, Micah Parsons and Daron Bland, that's another $17 million, that comes to $38.2 million of cap dollars at some point missing games.

And by COO Stephen Jones calculation, there is currently $102 million total dollars on injured reserve, so 40 percent. Someone needs to lay hands on this team for the rest of this year and going forward with some of these rehabs to get this team healthy.

While we know this is true, I don't believe being at or below .500 was their intention. Unfortunately they'll probably chalk this up to injuries. Dallas wasn't playing well before the injuries.
