CMike over Dunbar

Mcfadden is the back that has shown the least so far, if you're trying to make somebody inactive for Michael. That being said, they simply have to wait until Michael shows that he deserves to take somebody's spot before doing so.

I don't understand the love fest. Seahawks disnt want him despite just spending a second rounder on him. Cowboys said they want to work him in slow yet everyone on this site wants to unleash him. Maybe just maybe the Cowboys or Seahawks don't think he's ready to contribute? This reminds me of the Ryan Williams love fest.

Fans just love some players for reasons that I can't figure out. People gushed about the DE Gardner all off-season and during the preseason despite the fact that he didn't do anything significant in the preseason games.

Maybe C-Mike will be great, but I think if he is that overwhelming that the coaches will see it in practice. They don't need another player that does not know the scheme especially with Weeden playing QB. If C-Mike fully knows the playbook/scheme then I would like to see him but otherwise, just wait.

In fairness the OP was just suggesting carrying Christine > Dunbar as the active player on the 45-man game-day roster....not cutting Dunbar. At least that was my read.

You are right
But doesn't make the idea any smarter
You have a guy who is having a very good season so far and has made huge plays. Dunbar is a very big part of us being 2-0 and you want to bench him

How about we have all four running backs active on game day? We're a different offense right now. The run game and short passing game will probably be our bread and butter. I say have them all active and cut back at some other position.

Great post. Was just about to say this. We need all the offense we can get right now!!

No. I DID NOT want to bench him. The OP did. I say Christine should stay parked right where he is until he forces his way out of the garage.

Problem w this is were not going to carry 4 rbs. Darren didn't look bad last week against the Eagles. I'm just iffy benching Darren or Randle at this point for a guy who just got on the roster. And I'm all for playing Michael. But it's hard to bench one of a few guys that know the playbook for months now.

look at all of this Dunbar love...
Patience is a virtue.

In defense. It was warranted. We all know about being patientient because of potentital.

AOA, Felix Jones, Stanback, Pete Hunter, Randall Williams, Matt Johnson, etc. We all saw their potential yet riddled with injury and many never amounted to anything.

Hey, I'll eat crow but I'm not about potential only. Let's see something!! and I'm glad Dunbar has shown up now. Especially now since we need his play making ability.

I would love to unleash CMike. This dude can be the horse we need to punish teams. DMC could be our Dunbar.

dunbar creates match up problems. he is not a big runner, but it puts the defense in a quandry, do they keep a LB in or do they counter with a DB/S. if DB/saftey, the cowboys could conceivably run the ball against a smaller front. if a LB, then they swing him wide as they did and he is a very good route runner and that's a mismtach to our advantage. I am not sure if McFadden is as good lining up wide. if he is in the game, they probably counter with a LB and its probably a run.

Oh how quickly the tune changes. Something tells me if I looked up the threads calling for Dunbar to be cut/replaced, some of the same people praising him would be in those threads calling for his head.

Dunbar may be our best back. Randle, DMac and Kristi are just guys. Dunbar actually brings something

I think Randle should be the third down back and Mcfadden should get the start. When that goes bad after 20 carries start C. Michaels.
Michaels and Randle will be carrying the load with Randle as the COP, 3rd down back, it's just a matter of time.
Randle looks great out of the backfield as a receiver, not sure Randle can't handle Dunbar's duties. I like Dunbar just not that much with Randle activated as someone who can probably handle that role.

Are we going to go empty sets with Weeden at QB, and spread Dunbar out wide? Probably. Scary thought.

I had my doubts about Dunbar, I admit it. However he has gone out and produced big plays and as long as he is doing that then play him. I'm about the Cowboys winning and any player who is out there producing and helping the team win then great. I will leave crow up to others since I don't play the pet cat game. As far as I'm concerned if you are suited up and playing I expect that player who ever it is to do the job they are asked to do. I'm more than willing to praise any player who does well and be critical of any player who fails to do the job.

Better now than never. And we've had a lot of nevers.

I don't understand people, why would you want to replace the best weapon they have had so far?

Gun to my head and I had to swap him with one of the active RBs? McFadden. I don't think Michael wouldn't do any worse trying to power forward blindly into the line. But if there was a choice, I would keep Michael inactive as McFadden is great in pass protection/reliable hands and Lord knows Weeden is going to need all that he can get for next 7-8 games. I think Dunbar and McFadden are going to see quite the number of dump offs with Weeden at the helm.

Michael Robinson, the ex-Seahawk was basically banging the table saying they need to get C-Mike in there. The people who have seen the guy play up close seem to be pretty impressed by his ability. I think it's only a matter of time. The thing is, neither Randle or McFadden has done so poorly that they are ready to pull the plug. They really want to see if Randle can be the guy and see how they both evolve over a few games. Having a RB fresh for the second half of the season isn't a bad thing either if they can keep winning. Their running game is not losing them games yet. They have still been getting positive yardage on almost every play. Everyone just wants to see a few of those 12-20 yard runs mixed in with the line that they have. McFadden still looks like he is just no seeing things clearly and Randle has been close a few times to breaking to the second level but keeps getting tripped up and he just looks a little thin and lacking power to be running inside consistently. CMike looks like he is a combination of the two, which could be a nice fit. I would save him for a division game. Weeks 7,8 and 9 are huge and you know he will want to play against the Seahawks. If they can make it to the bye without him and then spring him loose for those 3 games, that might add a nice little boost just when they need it.
