As part of more of the supreme truth, The NFL and Goodell (and maybe Jerra cause he has great influence on what happens in the NFL) have gone, in my opinion, and got some dinosaurs from the bronze age to play the Super Bowl -- The Who.

To put it in the vernacular patois of Zoners, Don't get me wrong, ah grooved on the Who music. But that was decades ago!!!

Time marches on! Nobody under the age of 40 knows who these generic and cliched rockers are! Give the new blood of true performers a chance, Roger!!!!

Why the music from that time frame, far far away in another galaxy?

So this brings up the question, Mr. NFL Goodel: WHY DO YOU KEEP IGNORING HIP-HOP?
The Tom Pettys and Whos of the world are tired and they don't represent the players or the core audience of the NFL. And I don't mean the suits in the stands who can afford $5,000 tickets on Super Bowl Sunday.

Even that low-rent but lovable genre, country, could be considered. But noooo, a prehistoric act from guys who are museum pieces.

Hey, didn't one of them Who once sang in a very monotone key: I hope I die before I get old

Well MTV ruined their chances by poping out Janets old crusty boobie. But hey it’s not limited to just the Super Bowl. You have grandma Faith Hill opening Sunday night football and of course Hank Jr. on Monday night playing that same old worn out song. Sorry if i offened the old geezers here...hey i am headed that way myself.:

he's ignoring hip hop because that doesn't represent the average fan's tastes either

I say he should put up Flo Rida, Lady Gaga and Chamillionaire

I can only think of jay-z performing at the super bowl as hi hop goes. I don't know any other current artists I would want to listen to. Today's "music" is pretty weak.

Because the last time they had someone relatively new and contemporary, we got a boob.

They've been playing it safe ever since. And I actually like it.

There are plenty of good, class act, current groups out there that would be suitable for Super Bowl halftime. The mentality now is different than it was back during the wardrobe incident.

Black Eyed Peas would be good for a super bowl, I think.

"WHY DO YOU KEEP IGNORING HIP-HOP?"

Er, because it's crap, and would alienate the majority of the audience?

I vote for Pink! :)

I could see Kanye, he's mad narcissistic but solid outside of that. There are other Hip Hop acts that would be worth it.

Anyway, Hip Hop doesn't suck altogether, there are good lyricists (especially underground).

Black Eyed Peas are total sellouts, so they'd be perfect for a Super Bowl performance.

I'm 24 but I'd prefer some groups with talent (like The Who) over a pop star or something. And many mainstream rappers are no more talented than an autotuned pop star anyways.

I'm cool with the classic rockers, for now anyways.

Aside from the people stuck in the stadium, people with a choice actually watch that crap? Half-time is time to hit the head and stir whatever is cooking.

I caught a glimpse of the Beach Boys lip syncing some medley once, and that was enough.

I never realized that The Who had such a following in order for them to play the SB halftime.

Bon Jovi would've been awesome!
