Coach Jerry Jones may keep Elliott out vs Seahawks

sky-is-falling.jpg

Haven't you heard? Zeke's season will be RUINED if he doesn't play on Thursday night! LOL.
:hammer::popcorn:

Jerry's quote was before the Garrett press conference today that confirmed he would play. Jerry likely did not see the game plan before his interview, so was not sure if Zeke would play or not.

And this was brought on site today as well...good update.

Interesting. The one article made it seem like he said it after Garrett made his proclamation. I probably misread it.

If Jones wants him held out because they want to make sure his hammy is 100%, I am totally on board with that. No need to risk him.

But if the reason Jones doesn't want to play him is because his finely tuned scout's eye tells him Elliott is a sure fire hall of famer and doesn't need any preseason action, well then, that's chuckle worthy.

I don't think Jones makes the call either way.

his statement is " I don't know if Ezekiel Elliott will play at Seattle. He's already "seen enough" to know Zeke's the real deal." He does not say Zeke will not play so I guess we will see what clout and freedom Garrett has

I love the sheet brilliance of this if it's true.

Elliott gets no meaningful snaps to acclimate himself when the live bullets are firing, but comes in Week 1 and starts, messes up in blitz pickup and gets Romo killed.

Just when I was turning the tide on this damn team. Maybe I need to bring that paper bag avi back out. This is ridiculous, that guy is a rookie, if he is healthy and can play he needs to be out there on Thursday getting quality reps.

That's good to know. I think the kid needs to play, at least a little.

That would be pretty stupid. When is a good time for Zeke to play? Are you going to keep him in bubble wrap in regular season too?

Gotta get him out there. Even if youre 100% sure hes gonna be what you thought you were drafting, he hasnt played at NFL game speed. Lets get that out of the way before it matters.

jerry jones just needs to either shut up or coach the team.

Guess you didn't know...

Zeke needs his hammy put to the test and take some pre-season hits. Would be a big mistake in my opinion not playing him at least some in preseason.

uhh umm he is expected to play so.... what?!

If RBs getting injured so frequently was a big concern, then they shouldn't have used the 4th pick on a RB.

In fact, that was an argument made by numerous people here before the draft. That given the injury situations regarding TBs, using the 4th pick on one probably wasn't a wise use of that pick.

And yet here we are, people saying you gotta be careful with TBs because they get hurt a lot. You just can't make this stuff up.

It's not a flip/flop statement...and it stands on it's own merit. Young athletes tend to get more often, because they are just not prepared for the NFL level of intensity and violence. If an alternative were being offered, it would be that the 'rook' is being brought up to speed, properly. Crawl...walk...and then run.

Actually, a more prudent form of development. After Basic Training, a soldier must be able to go to war...good group interaction, requires education and integration. That is gained best, over time...
