Coaching Upgrade Question

Linehan is a dumpster fire. I'd seriously rather have Kellen Moore as OC.
Shuffling the deck chairs on the Titanic didn't work for them. It won't work in Dallas either.

You can have the greatest playcaller in human history, but if the scheme is broken, it won't matter.

The entire offensive scheme and the coaches that created it have to be tossed overboard and modernized. That can't be done during the season. We have to ride this out, as painful as it sounds.

Scheme could be better too.

But we have plenty of plays where Zeke gets yardage. Call them more often.
We've seen the read option. Call it more often.
We've seen them throw deep to Austin on a fly. Do that more.
Try it with Thompson.
Hand the ball off to Austin more.

We could go quite far by simply choosing plays we've already seen. It's not that complicated. If something is working, do more of it.

kellen needs to be the best qb whisper in the nfl to fix all of dak's problems. why can't jerry find the best qb guru in the world to fix him..

This is for all the guys who are insisting we need to upgrade our coaching. If Linehan was fired today, who would you want to bring in as your OC to replace him?

I don't know who might be available. Probably some retread. I guess you could have Garrett calling the plays. Otherwise maybe bring in a consultant? About all that is available right now are retreads that are probably no better than Linehan.

Let's say that Garrett gets canned at the end of the season and Linehan is also fired. What direction are you going to go? A guy lik Lincoln Riley would be ideal as OC but that's never going to happen.

You could bring in some mad scientist like Mike Leach or one of his progeny, but that's dicey because we need a running game and they want to pass it on every down.

I honestly think we would have a really hard time replacing these guys with a CURRENT upgrade. Maybe The Hoodie after New England implodes after the end of this year.

What is the point of this thread?

There are talented young coaches all over the league. Did you know about McVay before he broke out with the Rams?

But personally.............I hire Richards as my head coach. I would like a defensive minded, tough HC that inspires. I would then go out and hire an young offensive mind to handle the offense. Someone of Richards choosing, not Jerry's.

Instead of all of these moves we could have just drafted one of the QB in 1st round and we’d be in much better shape.

We can surround a turd with all of the aromas you want but in the end it’s still going to smell and look like crap.

The turd has floated to the top of the bowl. It’s time to flush.

Exactly........................Putting whip cream atop a plate of crap doesn't make it a souffle`.........................

Yes. The HC needs to hire his coordinators, not Jerry. I think even if Jason is fired, if Jerry places a coordinator before a HC is hired, it will still be more of a circus.
