I actually didn't think it was all that bad. It certainly isn't going to break any Billboard chart records but for him doing something he enjoys on the side, not too shabby.

That's a good point. I think there is a fine line of being able to talk and still have it considered music. Some blues music it seems like their almost talking and i would still consider it music. Talking in music is tricky business no doubt but i think it can be pulled off if the talent and creativity is there.

The instruments are music. A guy just talking is just that, nothing more.
