Are you for real? This guy nearly took the Pats to the playoffs in 2008 when Brady tore his ACL and took Kansas City to the postseason in 2010 I believe.

Cassell is as good as we could get right now.

Let's forget about every year outside of 2010 where he looked absolutely awful. Again, he's no better than what's on the market right now.

Were some of you naive enough to think we'd find Romo's replacement this week? The front offices job right now is get the BEST person available. The pool of available serviceable QBs is very small. After evaluation of 4 potential QBs today, they went with Cassel instead. Obviously, after testing the market and probably calling a bunch of teams, they determined Cassel to be the best choice.

I like it. You have to have another option besides Weeden and Moore. Weeden will have every chance to prove what he can do but if he totally flops at least we have another option. Maybe he'll end up as the permanent backup in that case. At least he's played in this league and has some success.
