Bottom line is Cassell is the best QB we could've gotten.

Cassel is absolutely no better than either Flynn or Ponder. His best year came in 08, we all know that was the Patriots system. You then had 2010, he didn't do anything in 2010 - you had Jamaal Charles who rushed for 1,400 yards and Thomas Jones who rushed for nearly 1,000 himself. The star of that team was the rushing attack along with a solid defense.

There's a very real possibility that Weeden stinks it up and this guy gets playing time. I get backup QBs won't lead you to the Super Bowl, but this guy won't even keep you in games. He's awful.

I do find it funny that people are complaining about this. It's as if some people think quality QBs are everywhere and teams are just willing to give them up easily.

I love it. Forget having to depend on the scrap heap. Go out and make a move to get a guy currently valued enough to be on an active NFL roster. This guy isn't great, but he's a serviceable bus driver. Especially with a great o-line. And that's all we need. Weeden gets first crack, but if he can't produce, we can plug in someone who should be able to keep us afloat in the playoff race until Romo gets back.

I love that this front office has been so active in making moves this season. They know that if we can get healthy that we can win it all this year. Aggressive, but in a smart, calculated way. A++ front office work this year.
