Video: Collins, taking control of that LG spot

Man, he almost looks better than Martin already. I don't know if that is more about Martin or not, but Collins was our second best lineman yesterday.

Tyron absolutely mauled a few guys too. He seems to have settled down from his early season jitters. From what I have seen, he is the best offensive lineman in the league this year.

I think I'm going to watch Collins on offensive plays. He looks more exciting than this boring, predictable offense.

That would be awesome if they could attach a go pro camera as well to his helmet. Could have a first person view of all the defensive players getting trucked. Of course downside would be, walking off the field after a pick and having a 1st person view of Garret clapping, lol.

I'd absolutely go nuts. A line of Tyron Smith, La'el Collins, Travis Frederick, Zach Martin, and Laremy Tunsil or Ronnie Stanley is on my short list of draft daydreams making this hellish season bearable.

Laremy? Couldn't decide between Larry and Jeremy?

Beasley totally whiffed on his man also. Where Martin was a little late, preventing him from squaring up, Beasley just flat out missed his guy.

Dwayne Harris was a beast at run blocking out of the slot.

If he even becomes average-above average from a technical standpoint, he is a lock Pro Bowler and candidate for All-Pro through his age 20s seasons. He still has work to do but man does he have all the tools you look for in an OG.

Collins was awesome on that play, but I am to this day still amazed how once Smith grips a defender, they are pretty obsolete on a play. There is no way you get away from him.

Not at all. Larry was more of a road grader that would just use this insane brute strength to crush defenders. He really wasn't a pulling type of guard.

Collins is really great when he gets some steam and he needs more technique in order to pass protect. Allen had good technique in his prime, but he would basically set his base and once he got his hands on the defender, it was over. Collins needs to chip away more at defenders because he doesn't have that strength.

He reminds me more of Randall McDaniel meets Erik Williams. Really good out in space and incredibly powerful when he gets to some steps into you and he finishes plays off like Williams did.

Larry Allen pulled and knocked the stuffing, among other things, out of all-pro Steelers OLB Greg Lloyd in the Superbowl.

It took an injury and terrible LG play to force him into the starting lineup. We just cannot escape from the terrible decisions Garrett makes to hinder our team.

Ha ha. God forbid a coach takes a few games to start a rookie at a position he has never really played.

After Wagner gets thrown down he gets back up, sees that the tackle is made, then turns and looks downfield as if he is thinking what the hell was that

He sure did. But, that wasn't his specialty. It's like Justin Tuck said....Larry Allen would basically announce that the ball was coming his way and there was nothing you could do about it. I don't think Collins is really that type of player. Doesn't mean that's a bad thing either.
