Rookie La'el Collins will make his first start Sunday afternoon against Atlanta.
Executive vice president Stephen Jones made the announcement on the team's flagship station, 105.3 The Fan, late Friday afternoon.
"I haven't even gotten that far yet,'' Collins said earlier in the day when asked what it would feel like if he got to run out on the field with the starters. "When the time comes we'll definitely see what happens.
"I'm pretty excited. The work is done. I'm prepared and I look forward to going out there this weekend.''

Here we go!

Does this mean Leary isn't ready yet? Or that Collins just looks better? I'm going to assume the former.

Well, it would have helped if I actually clicked the link and read the article. But then again, that's what you guys are here for, to sum things up so my ADHD brain doesn't have to read things. :)

Leary could play in a pinch, but he's really just a progress stopper. LC is the future. Sucks that LC and Leary can only play OG, while Bernie can play both OG/C. This means that Leary & LC will never be active together on game days. It will either be LC/Leary starting and Bernie as Backup OG/C. If LC takes the bull by the horns against ATL, we may have witnessed Leary's last playing time of the season (baring injury of course).

I wouldn't count Leary out yet.

Leary will be get paid by a team even if he loses his starting job, theres enough film to prove hes a good player

And then, of course, you have the who gives a bleep? What is this emotional connection to players? Why do people care about his future in another NFL city? The best players play. If the Cowboys decide to keep Collins at the expense of Leary (doesn't have to be that way since Collins is the best RT on the roster today) then I'll hope that Leary goes on to complete failure on another team. I hope his career ends in embarrassing fashion. Because it'll mean our front office made the right decision and another team isn't benefiting from one of our castoffs.

It's about the logo and laundry not Ronald Leary or any other player.

Why not? If LC gives a quality performance, then Leary will never be active on gamedays again (barring injury). He can't play multiple positions, so Bernie will be active and not Leary. So, I'm counting him out (as long as LC performs well).

Feel bad for Leary. He'd start I'd ready. But this is how you lose a job. But this also a business.

He hasn't lost his job yet. Injured and waiting to recover. No need to play him at less than 100% given our depth. We are fortunate.
