I don't think he's biased. That doesnt bother me because I don't think any announcers really are.

However, I do think he often says things that make me question if he knows what he's talking about.

Every team's fanbase thinks every announcer hates their team. It's pretty silly. I'm sure Joe Buck "hates" every team in the league.

With his intense hatred of the Cowboys, you know it's a great team when he can't shut his fat mouth. The last time he was this critical was back in the 90's Super Bowl years. Gotta love seeing Dak & the boyz getting under his skin again!:lmao:
You're seeing ghosts. Collinsworth is just about as unbiased an announcer there is. He praises the cowboys in a lot of areas. I like him. I'm not sure where you're getting your Collinsworth hate from.

Love or Hate him...

That point in the game when Collinsworth called the go to Dez play, and like 1 second later, the Cowboys went big to Dez for what turned into the game winning play was a beautiful piece of color commentary.

Agree. Like when the former players let us know what to expect and then see it happen. Another example was his saying something to the effect of the Cowboys D will allow those underneath 4-5 yard completes all day ..

Wow, I don't see the hatred at all. Collinsworth is pretty good in my opinion.

Joe Buck on the other hand.....

I have never gotten the impression he hates the Cowboys.

I personally think he tells it like he sees it, I don't always agree but I don't think he is bias.

Good grief.

Collinsworth is about as solid an announcer as you will ever see. He's self-deprecating, not a bloated egomaniac who struggles to see the game because he's blinded by his own brilliance (Simms). He knows the game, strategies, formations, and tendencies (as opposed to guys like Kornheiser and Dennis Miller). He can speak to the casual fan and the hardcore junkie. He's not afraid to call out bad players (i.e. T.J. Clemmings) or heap praise on great veterans (Sean Lee) and outstanding youngsters (Dak/Zeke). He's rarely prone to hyperbole (Gruden/Jaws). He'll get on the refs for bad calls, not toe the company line and gloss over blunders. He's not a homer - ever hear him go overboard in pro-Bengals mode? He obviously has a 100% vested interest in the game when he's not in the booth. I guess you could nitpick and say that he might occasionally pimp his PFF business, but even that's hard to detect.

Would you prefer someone like Theismann? Give me Collinsworth for every game and I'd be thrilled. I miss icons like Summerall and Madden, but remember that Madden was in full Dick Vitale buffoon mode most of the time especially in his final decade. I don't need catch phrases from my color guy - I want solid analysis.

During a close intense game, in which the outcome is in question or it's almost certain your team will lose, any comment by someone in the booth will seem derogatory, like they are just picking on you and your team. Furthermore, the refs suck, the commercials are terrible and the next family member that walks in front of the TV during a play is going pay the consequences.

Having said that, there was open hostility by some ex-players turned TV analysts in the past, not all of them tried to take the high road like Troy Aikman. And I'll say it, the Dallas Cowboys are grossly underrepresented in the Hall of Fame. But hey, it came with the territory of claiming to be "America's team" and when your team wins championships, it is at the cost of every other team losing in the playoffs at some point. You bet there are some resentment and it's impossible to be 100% professional 100% of the time.

Overall, it's no big deal, and today it is a non-issue, it's mostly we fans being temperamental and oversensitive during a stressful, critical game. Fans of every team believe they are getting screwed one way or another.

I don't get the hate really. As far as announcers go he's one of the few I don't mind listening to.

I don't really get a he hates the Cowboys vibe either. I think some people just make these things up in their head for whatever reason.

If you were talking about Ron Jaws, or Happy Birthday Joe, or hell even Joe Buck I'd agree with you. But Cris doesn't seem like he's anti any team.

Every fanbase thinks Cris Collinsworth is against them.

I've never understood people that pay close enough attention to announcers to claim that a particular guy doesn't like them. They are paid by the network not the Cowboys. So yeah, there are going to be a lot of times during a game where they say something that isn't pro-Dallas.

I like Joe Buck and Phil Simms. It's all a matter of taste, and I largely agree, it's petty to complain about announcing -- but in the heat of a game, sometimes our anger is deflected at them. It is what it is, not a big deal, IMO. But it is funny to see fans get irate at the announcing crew.

Much like this weird fixation everyone has on Buck and Simms. Simms, in particular, is comic relief and an awesome listen. Buck is a bit condescending at times, but he calls a great game.

I'm guilty of doing it at times, myself. Everyone chooses their outlet, whether it's the team (welp, we're gonna lose, even tho it's 10:00 in the first; the refs suck; x player should never play again, etc).

CC is a good color-commentator.

Every fanbase thinks every announcer is out to slander their beloved team. Hell, look no further than Aikman. Cowboy fans say he "hates us" (so absurd) while other fanbases say he homers out.

I like Collinsworth, he talks a bit much and doesn't let the game breathe, but he's good at dissecting line play. He also doesn't need the replay often to know what happened on a play. You can tell he watches a ton of film.

Steeler fans here always complain that he hates them because he's a former Bengal, but I've never felts he's biased against any team. He's a pretty good analyst IMO.

Collinsworth is one of the better ones imo...however, you could definitely tell he was giddy about a possible overtime (And as a football fan who isnt supposed to have a rooting interest this is of course understandable) and it was obvious he was disappointed when he knew it wasnt gonna happen.
