They are 10-4, and lost to the Broncos and the Patriots, both of whom are 11-3. To move past either of them for a bye one of them would have to lose out.

Not happening.

TY Hilton is a bit gimpy and not practicing.

Wouldn't shock me to see the Colts play "don't get anyone hurt" football this week.

I think some effort will be there but not lose and you go home type.

Hilton not playing would be huge! I't would be dumb on their part to play him. Hamstrings are tricky.

I think they play to win.

If Dungy were still coaching them, they would probably rest players.

I do not see Pagano as that way. Very wishful thinking as he has already said he has no plans to rest starters.

"We're going to play 16 games," coach Chuck Pagano vowed Monday. "We're going to prepare to try and win this football game. Forget being in the playoffs or not. That's just our mindset. That's how we roll. You could drive out of this building, and you could get run over. You've got to live. We're gotta make decisions and protect guys from themselves in the right situation. But we're going to go try and win a football game. We're gonna play."

One other thing, they beat the Ravens, Bengals and Browns, but lost tot he Steelers. The only way they can be the 4 seed is if Pitt wins the AFC North.
Huh? They're only one game ahead of PIT and BAL, and 1/2 game ahead of CIN. Indy has to win out to guarantee the 3 seed over CIN, and win at least one game to get it over BAL.

And the 3 seed has value, in that I'm guessing nobody wants to go to NE in round 2 if they can avoid it.

Decent Possibility of this happening IMO. Steelers have KC and Cincy at home to finish up the season. Cincy has Denver in Denver and then Pittsburgh away. No chance, IMO, Cincy beats Denver in Denver. That game against Pittsburgh could be for the Division and I am not in love with Cincy. They got smoked by the Steelers two weeks ago and I don't see a lot changing with those two.

That's certainly possible, since the Steelers control their own fate. But the real problem with 3 vs 4 seeding is that both 3 and 4 have to get there (championship game) for it to matter. Which means both Denver and NE lose. So while I don't expect it to affect much, the Colts really don't have a lot on the line. They'll play hard, but I doubt they'll risk gimpy players too much or have a lot of fire in their belly if they're down 2 TDs in the 4th.

Can't believe people are still going with this angle. They are only 1 game ahead of the 3 seed. Valuable to where if you win the first round, you avoid the Patriots in the divisional round. No one wants to play them right now.

They aren't going to go into this game looking to rest and play not to get hurt football, whatever that entails.

That being said, I don't think they would relish going to Denver either. From their point of view, it really doesn't matter if they are the 3 or 4 seed. The 2 WC teams would be pretty even. And it's a wash whether you go to Denver or NE assuming you win your WC game.

I don't think it's a wash. Right now, I'd much rather play Denver. Manning isn't playing all that well right now. That could change but as of now, I think I'd rather play Manning and Denver as opposed to Brady and the Pats.

I'd rather go to Denver than NE, but I hope the Colts feel the way you do.

Yeah but you can lose that mental edge with nothing really to play for. The fact that they clinched their division last week is huge. It's what gives me hope in a game I've had pegged for a loss.
