Colts Gain Nothing With a Win

Exactly. Plus, the Colts went this route some years back when they were undefeated. They rested and threw them off their game and they never recovered and lost their first playoff game. They will be playing all out on Sunday. You don't limp into the playoffs and expect to turn it back on. Not a team like Indy. They aren't good enough to do that.

I'm expecting their best shot. The mental edge thing may have some legs especially if we get an early lead, but when was the last time a team came to jerry world with everyone watching and didn't play with their hair on fire?

there is no question in my mind they will will fight to the finish,we need to win the turnover battle again and play physical football on both sides.

A win may not improve Indy's seeding but it does have a lot to gain from winning let's not fool ourselves.

Huh? They're only one game ahead of PIT and BAL, and 1/2 game ahead of CIN. Indy has to win out to guarantee the 3 seed over CIN, and win at least one game to get it over BAL.

And the 3 seed has value, in that I'm guessing nobody wants to go to NE in round 2 if they can avoid it.

I think Hostile forgot the tie aspect

Yep. We have some dominating starts on the road i.e. Eagles and Bears this year. But at home, we never really get out in front of teams early. I guess the Packers last year but we all know how that ended.

That's not so far-fetched, either. The Giants will most likely be playing all out to win one last game for Tom Coughlin - give him a "happy retirement" sendoff. I'm not saying I expect them to beat the Eagles, but it wouldn't be a surprise, either.

I actually expect the Giants to win that game. They have improved as of late and I think they hate the Eagles more than they hate us, believe it or not.

Turnovers especially. We lose the turnover edge, this team will have a tough time.

I just really do think we are just more focused and determined on the road, because we feel like the underdog, even when we are not. It's really sad the team can't play at home with that same mindset.

Yeah but you can lose that mental edge with nothing really to play for. The fact that they clinched their division last week is huge. It's what gives me hope in a game I've had pegged for a loss.

I had us pegged for win this weekend until Free and Martin came up lame. Now a toss up IMO. I think we lose to the skins if we beat the Colts. I cannot see us winning out. Hope I'm wrong.

They are 10-4, and lost to the Broncos and the Patriots, both of whom are 11-3. To move past either of them for a bye one of them would have to lose out.

Not happening.

TY Hilton is a bit gimpy and not practicing.

Wouldn't shock me to see the Colts play "don't get anyone hurt" football this week.

The offense is slowing them down, Luck be damned...they simply don't have a unit that is equal to either NE or DEN...at least not at the moment. The offense is ranked 13th in DVOA...Dallas is 5th. NE is the most dangerous AFC team right now...especially at home. I would trust them over the Manning-led Broncos in a heartbeat.

Didn't you have 8-10 games pegged as a lost?

Denver isn't an easy place to play though. NE has lost in the playoffs at home more so then win

I hope they come to play. I would rather see us win in an all out effort, as opposed to being gifted. I don't see the Colts laying down, at all, for this game. It might be different if they start to get steam rolled but otherwise, I think they will come to play.

Nobody is going to gift us anything, however Hostile is right that if the Colts have realistically no chance to get a bye (neither Denver or New England are losing out, come on)............the Colts might not play some guys that are not 100% like T.Y. Hilton.

Conversely, our team is looking at this game as a must win and "all hands on deck"...............if you are not in the hospital, you dam well better suit up...............totally different mindset than if we already had the East clinched.

I think that is the point Hostile is making.

We are so close.

I am still saying no playoffs until proven otherwise.

I would love to see us win the East and keep the Eagles out.

The media here in Philly already has the Cowboys losing to the Colts since they are the Colts and we suck at home. They figure to have the division back in their hands. I hope the are wrong.

Seems like most of their fans have given up......................go check out some of the Philly fan sites around the Internet and it looks like this place did after the Thanksgiving game.

Losing back to back home games against the Seahawks and Cowboys pretty much crushed their delusion that they were a SB caliber team...............reality is starting to set in and its not a pretty site for Eagle fans:laugh:

People always forget that eliminated teams are getting a head start on playing for jobs next season. You don't want "quit" on tape.

That is true, I do think when a team knows they are out and they start falling behind in a game it is easy to pack it in and start thinking about how you will be spending your offseason. However these teams if they hang around with a chance to win then the game becomes fun for them. All these men are competitor and the thrill of winning is still there. Important to knock the will out of these bad teams early in the game

Dallas needs to go in with the mind set of killing them regardless. Go in and run the ball down their throat, beat them down, beat the will right out of them.

Don't go in thinking they don't have anything to really play for cause that will get the Cowboys in trouble.
