Can't believe people are still going with this angle. They are only 1 game ahead of the 3 seed. Valuable to where if you win the first round, you avoid the Patriots in the divisional round. No one wants to play them right now.

They aren't going to go into this game looking to rest and play not to get hurt football, whatever that entails.

If they are worth anything and have a head coach worth anything would never decide to tank just to avoid playing another team, even if they are the Patriots. Fans think that way, playoff teams and staffs should not.

Yeah but you can lose that mental edge with nothing really to play for. The fact that they clinched their division last week is huge. It's what gives me hope in a game I've had pegged for a loss.

A few players here and there possibly. But I think their core leadership is not thinking that way. They have a pretty mentally strong team and have had it even going back to when they fought for Arians when Pagano was out.

I expect the Colts to come to Dallas playing to win. I will say if Hilton is having hamstring issues I would sit him, while seeding my be important it is not worth losing a top player in your offense. I would say that even if they were playing someone other than Dallas.

Nobody does the Cowboys favors. I expect them to go all out. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Colts will look look to ball out and get a win. It's Dallas.. It's Jerryworld... Aren't they still fighting for a 3rd seed anyway?

Unfortunately, the Colts will be playing to win.

That's just the Cowboys' luck (or Luck?)

That's certainly possible, since the Steelers control their own fate. But the real problem with 3 vs 4 seeding is that both 3 and 4 have to get there (championship game) for it to matter. Which means both Denver and NE lose. So while I don't expect it to affect much, the Colts really don't have a lot on the line. They'll play hard, but I doubt they'll risk gimpy players too much or have a lot of fire in their belly if they're down 2 TDs in the 4th.
I was thinking more along the lines of 3 facing the 6 seed and 4 facing the 5 seed.

I hope they come to play. I would rather see us win in an all out effort, as opposed to being gifted. I don't see the Colts laying down, at all, for this game. It might be different if they start to get steam rolled but otherwise, I think they will come to play.

Not sure the Colts want to be pulling back with 2 games left you want to be playing your best football entering the playoffs. They're coming off a couple of tough wins vs Cleveland and Houston and the last thing they want to do is play themselves into a slump by sitting players now or not giving their best effort. With one game left you can play it cautious and sit players but I've seen too many teams make the mistake of packing it in too early looking ahead to the playoffs and end up going one and out.

Not saying they will tank. Saying they might not risk a lot.

I agree but again a speed WR dealing with a hamstring if I'm the Colts he would be the one guy I would rest. Hamstrings can cause a lot of problems for a player and if I'm in a situation where I have the division clinched I just could not see risking him when I have a chance to let him get close to 100% for the post season. Outside of Hilton sure I would play all my starters and try to get my team playing good ball heading into post season

Oh... well there's that too. Would be a bigger deal in the NFC obviously. In the AFC I expect two good teams in those slots. Either way, as the home team in that game you're going to be favored to win so I can't imagine they're too concerned with it.

I absolutely agree with you on that.

One thing I would be concerned about is Colts really have nothing to lose they can take some risk in this game, fake a punt or FG and if he does not work then so be it but I think they will be able to do some things they may not normally do

In checking their schedule so far, they have no exactly played a tough one. They lost to most of the good teams they played.

I would not be upset if they came in half hearted. You would be crazy to turn that down. I just do not expect it.

Agreed.

I think it's a reach to think that the Colts won't be giving their all this weekend.

We're going to have to earn it.

Pittsburgh, Denver, New England, and Philadelphia. The only winning teams they have beaten are the Browns, Bengals, and Ravens. Houston could end up a winner, but aren't at this point in time.

I don't think they're consciously going into this game thinking hey we can let up now, we won our division and probably can't get a bye. I just think it's human nature to do so.

This Sunday you should see one desperate team and one not so desperate. That's all I'm saying.

Now could I be sitting here on Sunday wondering why the Colts are the ones that look like they're playing for their season and the Cowboys disinterested? Of course.
