Can't believe people are still going with this angle. They are only 1 game ahead of the 3 seed. Valuable to where if you win the first round, you avoid the Patriots in the divisional round. No one wants to play them right now.

They aren't going to go into this game looking to rest and play not to get hurt football, whatever that entails.
No sir, they are the 3 seed. They cannot get a 1 seed unless they win out and New England and Denver lose out. They cannot get a 2 seed unless they win out and one of the other 2 does lose out.

They would have to lose out or end up tied with Pittsburgh to not be the 3 seed.

In other words, they really do not have anything to gain. Exactly what I said.

I would not be upset if they came in half hearted. You would be crazy to turn that down. I just do not expect it.

Half harted is different, IMO, then resting players etc. I don't expect them to do that unless there are legit injury concerns. I agree that they will come to play.

Resting, half hearted, playing not to get hurt, not a big difference. They will play hard, with whomever they suit up, no question in my mind. Pagano and co. have their culture installed pretty well. I doubt it changes much.

Nobody does the Cowboys favors. I expect them to go all out. Hopefully I'm wrong.

One thing for sure Dallas can't go into this game expecting favors. Cowboys need to do as they have and that is focus on what the Cowboys do.

Nein! Do not be deceived fans!

When ANY team beat us they crow and crow and for some it make there season.
Beating the cowboys be the elixer of choice for other teams. face it we are not just any team we are the Cowboys, winners of 5 Super Bowls and if we were allowed, winners of Peabody awards and JD Powers awards whatever they are.

I agree but again a speed WR dealing with a hamstring if I'm the Colts he would be the one guy I would rest. Hamstrings can cause a lot of problems for a player and if I'm in a situation where I have the division clinched I just could not see risking him when I have a chance to let him get close to 100% for the post season. Outside of Hilton sure I would play all my starters and try to get my team playing good ball heading into post season

Naturally if you have a player dealing with an injury you sit them but other than that I would be playing all my starters. The quickest way to play yourself into a slump and get players hurt is not being focused and ready to play looking ahead to the playoffs. I've seen a number of teams through the years that had everything all wrapped up with a couple of games left decide to take the final 2 games off and weren't sharp entering the playoffs which resulted in a quick exit. Everyone shows up for the Cowboys so I expect Indy to put out their best effort.

They know the Cowboys desperately need this game and if the Colts aren't ready to play they could get pummeled which is not what you want with the playoffs around the corner. If the Colts were to play poorly and lose big it would almost force them to have to play their starters in week 17 to keep their confidence in tact or they risk limping into the playoffs and getting bumped.

I agree. Colts may have won last week but they did not play very well, which prompted the HC to say they would not be sitting back until playoffs. Cowboys need to be ready to take care of their own business, Colts can come into the game and let it all hang out win or lose will not hurt

Exactly. I can't see a Chuck Pagano coached team with a healthy Andrew Luck packing it in. They are going to play hard and make us earn a win.

We are so close.

I am still saying no playoffs until proven otherwise.

I would love to see us win the East and keep the Eagles out.

The media here in Philly already has the Cowboys losing to the Colts since they are the Colts and we suck at home. They figure to have the division back in their hands. I hope the are wrong.

I promised a guy at work who is a Giants fan that if his Giants can eliminate the Eagles from the post season I will buy him lunch to celebrate.

That's not so far-fetched, either. The Giants will most likely be playing all out to win one last game for Tom Coughlin - give him a "happy retirement" sendoff. I'm not saying I expect them to beat the Eagles, but it wouldn't be a surprise, either.

They are 10-4, and lost to the Broncos and the Patriots, both of whom are 11-3. To move past either of them for a bye one of them would have to lose out.

Not happening.

TY Hilton is a bit gimpy and not practicing.

Wouldn't shock me to see the Colts play "don't get anyone hurt" football this week.

I'll take any help they can get and I don't care how they win, just win and come out healthy

I heard they were thinking of sitting Luck in this game then determined he would be safer on the field than sitting on the bench. LOL Just joking!!!!!

Yeah but you can lose that mental edge with nothing really to play for. The fact that they clinched their division last week is huge. It's what gives me hope in a game I've had pegged for a loss.

It is huge for them and a small amount of complacency can set in with that accomplishment.

On the other hand with Murray, Free and Martin's injuries we quickly went from enjoying the Philly win to figuring out how we will win Sunday in the event we're short handed with key players. This will keep everyone on our end focused all week.

Agreed.

I think it's a reach to think that the Colts won't be giving their all this weekend.

We're going to have to earn it.

Exactly. Plus, the Colts went this route some years back when they were undefeated. They rested and threw them off their game and they never recovered and lost their first playoff game. They will be playing all out on Sunday. You don't limp into the playoffs and expect to turn it back on. Not a team like Indy. They aren't good enough to do that.

Yeah, Ty Hilton and a lot of Colts players are a little gimpy going into this week. I think Pagano is talking a good game about not sitting guys but I'll bet you he ends up sitting guys with only two games left and them most likely having to play on Wildcard weekend.
