No he can't he has to go to who claims him
Watch the 49ers put in a claim for him. They have $39 million in CAP space right now so they could easily absorb the $6.5 million. The beauty of still having a QB on their rookie contract.

If no team puts in a claim for him then he can go wherever he wants. With that contract most teams will probably pass.

Please answer this: Does he have to sign with the first offer or can he negotiate his way up the food chain? Meaning, if Dallas reaches out to his agent and is willing to pay more, can he hold out until it's Dallas' turn?
I believe at this point he’s subject to waivers. First claim, first served.

You are right. Even though he is a vested veteran it is after the trade deadline so he is subject to waiver claims. However, very few teams will probably want to eat that $6.5 million cap hit unless they think he could make a difference in a playoff run. It would be senseless for a bad team to sign him unless they really thought he could be cornerstone for the future because of the remaining salaries on his contract.

I’ll be honest…..it seemed like he played better football when he was Darius lol..Darius was arguably the best linebacker in the league….Shaq? Man I’d love to get him.

Not saying they will or won’t, but he’s not needed there. They have Warner and Greenlaw. Greenlaw already plays the Will and Warner plays the Mike

Egirls or niners have him on speed dial as we speak.
49ers are ahead of the Eagles on the waiver wire list. Also, the 49ers have $39.4 million in cap space. The Eagles only have $3.3 million in CAP space. The Eagles would need to do some adjusting to take on the $6.5 million CAP hit. The 49ers could team Shaq Leonard up with Fred Warner and Dre Greenlaw which would give them by far the best LBer unit in the NFL.

He'll definitely, without a doubt, be signed by the Eagles or fruity-niners. Definitely.

If his neck checks out, he would definitely be a guy to grab. Having three LBs that have neck issues is not a good roster building method, TBH.
..oh, ok, didnt know he had neck issues. Yep, red flag there.
