If we are willing to experiment with HIM...then we should look at Suh. Both aren't really great fits here.
Suh can play both 3T and 1T. Questionable that Hankins would fit Marinelli's type of 1T. He still likes his 1T to move laterally and penetrating the backfield.

I don't know much about him prior to going to the Colts but he didn't play bad enough to get cut. May be its a salary situation.

you might be more correct. not all players fit all schemes. i just remember the hype for him. i didnt buy the hype but i think hes a good player if used correctly.

Hankins wouldn't affect comp picks. He was released.

I know. That's what I'm saying. Other players they may have used the excuse of "we want our comp picks". You can't use that excuse with Hankins and why you aren't at least seeing what he wants.

Not sure why anyone thinks we're looking for a 1-tech. The only DL player we've been rumored to be interested in is Suh, and he's a 3-tech. And unless Irving is signed away, he's a 3-tech. So Collins is our starting 1-tech whether we like it or not.

Interesting matt eberflus would not want him.

did he learn to not want big interior tackles from marinelli?

or is this just a money thing?

I wonder is this even a move by him though? If I'm a young DC.....I'm not getting rid of one of my solid starters who's 25 years old. At the end of the day you still have to go out and get those smaller quicker interior tackles.....Colts have too many holes to be listening to Eberflus.

I actually keep forgetting about Collins. Now that I think about it....they won't touch a 1 tech. They are going to rely on Collins for that. Unless they plan on putting Irving on the outside and moving Collins to 3 tech.

I am sure they have spent a million hours as a staff evaluating the team. The final decision is not his for sure but I imagine the defensive coordinators opinion played a huge role.

I think Rod wants players he feels are coachable..and I think a large part of why he seems to want 'orphans" over the big named guys is precisely THAT. He can coach them and they will listen.

I know what he wants... about four double quarter pounders with cheese from Micky-D’s
