Many are wondering how Marvel Studios will bring the X-Men into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with the fan-favorite characters being some of the few A-listers yet to grace their films. However, Marvel Studios has handled a team of mutants beforehand, but it did so in a TV show that was unrelated to the X-Men, as there was an infamous series that's mostly forgotte.

Mutant X sounded like an X-Men spinoff, and with the popularity of Fox's initial X-Men movies, it looked like one, as well. Unfortunately, it failed to match those films' quality or the quality of the comic books, instead being a cheaply done affair indicative of the era.

I remember giving this show a shot back during the syndication days. It was so poorly done that I am happy FOX sued Marvel Studios for infringement--even though I am just now discovering the legal issue.

In hindsight, I am betting the strategy was releasing the show on syndication in order to "hide" it. Of course, that is impossible but a cable network release would have been more quickly and widely seen.

I vaguely remember watching an episode or 2. It was absolutely stale and cheesily overacted, IIRC.

The article states that it debuted "nearly 11 years ago, in 2001". Which number is wrong? Was it in 2011, or was it 21 years ago?

The MCU has been around long enough to produce a parent/child actor appearance with Kurl Russell as Ego in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 and his son Wyatt Russell as U.S. Agent in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier plus this movie. The movies with the biggest single-day box office hauls are either a sequel, remake, or part of a franchise, and all take place in worlds of science fiction and fantasy.

Stacker analyzed data from The Numbers on films with the biggest single days at the box office in the United States and presented the top 25, along with details on their releases. Domestic grosses were not adjusted for inflation, so the list is skewed toward the past decade of blockbusters.

The earliest release date on the list comes in 2009, but the movie genres represented have proven popular since the beginning of cinema with stories of vampires, magicians, and caped crusaders in silent films, with the first comic book adaptations appearing in the 1930s. Star Wars creator George Lucas hails the adventures of Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers as inspirations for his space epic, while even the 2019 computer-generated imaging remake of "The Lion King" on the list is a retooling of "Hamlet."

Yep. Kurt and Goldie Hawn have four kids:

• Oliver Hudson and Kate Hudson (with Goldie's ex. Bill Hudson)
• Boston Russell (with Kurt's ex. Season Hubley)
• Wyatt Russell (their DNA)

Everyone knows Kate. Boston has not ever embraced the acting bug but big brother Oliver has a sizeable resume. Some of his latest work was playing Garrett in The Cleaning Lady.

You know, for awhile there I have been thinking it is just my fast fingers making typos. However, I know sometimes it is Microsoft Edge "suggesting" crap that I do not see an instant before typing the exact same thing. I gotta figure out how to get it to stop doing that.
