Commander Fans are riding HIGH !!!

I remember being ecstatic when the news came out that Jerry was going to hire Parcells to coach the Cowboys. We finally had a guy who would limit Jerry's interference in football operations and turn this team back into contenders after some of the most hopeless football I had ever seen.

Seems like a pretty similar situation to me, so I don't blame them for feeling the way they feel.

This is a long term, at least 3 year rebuilding project in DC.

Shanahan will come in and probably purge the roster of anyone over the age of 27 (with Fletcher, Cooley and Dockery surviving)

Look for 30 new players next year.

He'll draft his first round QB like he did in Cutler and look for ways to get more picks with the help of a crafty guy in Allen. Draft o-line, draft o-line and sign some midlevel o-line FAs that are available

Next year will be at best 6 wins.

The 2011, look for a 2-3 game improvement, with more of the roster filling out and hopefully some CBA certaintity.

2012 the team should be ready to compete for a playoff spot. After that, who knows

I guess I wasn't even aware Shany had a bright young Son in the NFL ranks?
wow. maybe you should stick to not posting on team message boards.

Didn't Danny fire Marty because Marty had total control and Danny asked for some back and he refused?

I say this because I wonder how long Danny will go without wanting some control back from Shanny or Bruce.

Now with Gibbs he idolized the man so I doubt he would pull that with Joe but i wonder if he starts doing that with Shanny if things don't turn around fast enough for him.

It'll last right up to the point where Shanahan convinces everyone to trade up for another Jarvis Moss type player.

That is the 800 million dollar question.

After the debacle of this year, he knows he has to change his approach. Just getting rid of Vinny was a sign that he can actually "learn" and "adjust"

Of course, that could all change if Vinny is re-hired next year :)

:laugh2:

Thats why you give him an FO that knows what its doing. Jeez what a cluster his D moves/draft picks were

His picks on O though were money. Cutler (in his system) Clady, Royal, Marshall, the FB. He can pick, and develop O-talent

Its that D. Yeesh

McCoy, Claussen, Bradford...all of them will look nice getting creamed and royally sucking in Washington. All three will be huge busts. Wish there was a way they could get all 3 of them.

 Noooo Dave, please don't put McCoy's name up there with the rest of those. I would puke burnt orange if Colt wound up as a Deadskin...

He won't.

As of today Bradford would be the pick. But things can change from now until April

The thing with Campbell is he has just been completely ruined.

I think the guy has had about 8 offensive coordinators since his time in College.

Plus they can't protect him.

He throws one of the prettiest passes in the league but he is ruined mentally from all the chaos around him.
His 2 second long release doesn't help much.

I was on the Commander Board yesterday and they are riding HIGH !!! They know their close to naming Shanahan as HC and they just signed George Allens son to GM which will hopefully keep the medling Danny Snyder at bay during the Season. They think they will be the king of the Division with Shany turning things around. I told them that Shany had a .500 Record in the NFL minus the Elway years. They laughed and scoffed at Wade Phillips potential return to Dallas and also said Shany is bring his bright young son with him to become their HC when the older Shany retires. What's your take on the Skins moves and do you feel with Wade's possible return this might propel the Skins into an even tighter NFC East race ?
We'd have been just as high if Shanahan had replaced Campo.

Boy, the similarities between the Knicks and Skins is uncanny.

As a Knick fan, I can tell you these guys are doomed to suffer a long time.

It just wouldn't be Commanders fans if they didn't find a way to turn this pathetic season into yet another offseason championship :laugh1:

They have no where to go but up and I think they will have guys in there who actually have some sense of direction.

Snyders problem is, will he give them a legit opportunity ,or will he give them the Al Davis treatment and fire him after 2 years if he can't get that mess cleaned up quick enough?
I hate when people say this. They can go down or stay the same too.

True. I don't blame the fans of the skins about being excited what I would be concerned about if the organization standing behind Shanahan and giving him the time he will need to get this program going. When BP took over he was able to come in and help get this team to 10-6 in his 1st season however the following season we went 6-10 and Jerry did not pull the plug on BP. Would Dan Synder? looking at his track record with HC I think he very well would have. For the skins the turn around will come with some ups and downs but you have to be willing to go through those ups and downs if you plan on making this work for the long haul.

That's what I've heard myself. Bradford does have that NFL cannon arm that scouts drool over.

Completely off topic, but I am a Knicks fan and a KC Royals fan. The Cowboys are the only bright spot. It is hard to keep pulling for perennial losers.

Count me among the people that think the Commanders are still going to be trash.

I hope the Commanders are a good team next year, makes the rivalry more interesting these days.

Yes, we are rightly excited about being free of Cerrato's complete and total incompetence.

No we don't. Please stop. Any Skin fan with a brain knows this is going to take at least 2-3 years, just to be competitive. The Snyder/Cerrato brain trust has so horribly mismanaged this team...it is going to take a long time to repair the damage.

He's actually 91-69 without Elway...and only 2 losing seasons: 6-10 in 1999 and 7-9 in 2007.
