I was on the Commander Board yesterday and they are riding HIGH !!! They know their close to naming Shanahan as HC and they just signed George Allens son to GM which will hopefully keep the medling Danny Snyder at bay during the Season. They think they will be the king of the Division with Shany turning things around. I told them that Shany had a .500 Record in the NFL minus the Elway years. They laughed and scoffed at Wade Phillips potential return to Dallas and also said Shany is bring his bright young son with him to become their HC when the older Shany retires. What's your take on the Skins moves and do you feel with Wade's possible return this might propel the Skins into an even tighter NFC East race ?

Only Commanders fans could extend their dominance of being offseason champions to the regular season.

Well Shanahan will follow in the footstep of other coaches the skins fans where happy to get only to be shown the door. Snyder hires and fires so quickly he has a QB who has never played in the same system for more than a year. Keep it up Commanders it is a good way to stay at the bottom

Skins fans are delusional. While Shanahan is better than Zorn, 5-11 teams don't usually become Super Bowl contenders overnight.

I guess I wasn't even aware Shany had a bright young Son in the NFL ranks?

They have no where to go but up and I think they will have guys in there who actually have some sense of direction.

Snyders problem is, will he give them a legit opportunity ,or will he give them the Al Davis treatment and fire him after 2 years if he can't get that mess cleaned up quick enough?

He is in Houston and they have been hollering for him to be fired all season long.

i presume shanahan will draft a qb in the 1st rd which actually is the wrong thingto do,their o-line is pretty bad.

They do in parity football.

We've been down this road before when they got rid of Turner (proving to be by far the best coach they've had since Snyder bought the team, and winning big in SD). Turner was the WHOLE problem in DC according to their fans. Then they hired Schottenheimer, who lasted one whole yr. Then Spurrier. Then Gibbs again. Then got that idiot Zorn who they said was a "diamond in the rough" that Snyder "discovered" Everyone of them was regarded as a the savior for them. Everyone of them flopped.

I am not going to try and argue that Shanahan isnt better than Zoen, he is. But he's got a MAJOR rebuilding project there and they dont have alot of talent. I'll be surprised if they win more than 5 or 6 games next yr.

not usually. but yeah, in today's league it can happen. but for goodness sakes when they get rid of campbell they won't have a quarterback. no way they "rule" the NFCE next season.

They have to find something to be happy and joyful about and this potential move is it. i don't fault them for it. I just don't think they're going to be nearly as pleased as they think they'll be with him.

All I can say is THANK YOU DEADSKINS..

Monday? Why wait? Sign him today.. That way he doesn't have any setbacks...

I hope they draft another QB early and throw him to the wolves. Feel bad for whoever they draft, but it will be good for us. After two years of watching a young QB struggle, little danny boy will fire the coach and the process will start all over.

McCoy, Claussen, Bradford...all of them will look nice getting creamed and royally sucking in Washington. All three will be huge busts. Wish there was a way they could get all 3 of them.

I almost feel bad for skins fans....they just can't help themselves.

The only thing that will come out of this is further disappointment for them, and further enjoyment for us.

Gibbs part deux says hello.

If you just look at that roster it is shocking how thin their talent base is and honestly remarkable they were even a five hundred team last year. Their drafts have been complete jokes for I forgot how many years (at least five) and there is not much to build upon. They are old, depth-poor and slow. They need quality players in the secondary, a running back or two and at a ton of help at wide receiver. Outside of Orakpo and Davis, what young players do they have ready to be stars? And before I forget they do not have a quarterback either.

If I were them, I would do what I could to stay out of the free agent sweepstakes and concentrate on smart drafting. But given the situation, I think you will see a bunch of ex-Broncos that McDaniels doesn't want anymore finding their way to Shanahan.

I read a poster say there that he could not wait to see Shanahan work his magic with Colt Brennan. :laugh2:

The thing with Campbell is he has just been completely ruined.

I think the guy has had about 8 offensive coordinators since his time in College.

Plus they can't protect him.

He throws one of the prettiest passes in the league but he is ruined mentally from all the chaos around him.
